I am grateful to Neil Warnock, but pleased now that a man with energy, enthusiasm, experience and a very successful track record is so pleased to have chosen our club.
This is a crucial step for Chris. He clearly wants to be here and understands our history, our status, our potential and the current position.

After listening to him, I have some real optimism and genuinely wish this man the very best.

I thought the same. He was briefly on loan to Walsall in 1989, but that can't have had that much affect on him can it

Exactly what we need. A passionate, forward-thinking man who understands this club and its heritage inside out, and wants to get us to the top by crafting an identity based on playing the beautiful game "the right way".

Already a big admirer of the man prior to coming to the club and it's no secret he was always my first choice for the job when Warnock retired, whenever that was going to be, I think he embodies that dogmatic spirit and ability to think outside of the conventional that successful people in any walk of life carry in themselves and I can't wait to see what he does with our squad.

Behind you all the way, Chris. We are the Boro and we shall overcome, once more.
