Chris Wilder

I see the point he poster hoofing is trying to make but let’s not forget one thing and that is that all the issues were of his own making.

Everything said was true but for whatever reason it wasn’t enough for wilder.

Can we delete this please. OP is thick as mince clearly.
Don't do yourself down.
On Jan 16th we were in the Play offs with 42 points from 26 matches.
We'd just seen Crooksy score a brace and grab another late turnaround win.
It was our 6th win in an unbeaten 7 league match run, which yielded 19 points and conceded 3 goals.
We'd also won away in the cup with a late winner.
Everyone was more than happy with Wilder then.

That was the absolute highpoint in his time here.
Carrick has already been here longer than that (11 league matches versus 9).
Wilder's first 9 matches brought 20 points. Great start
Carrick's first 11 matches brought 25 points. Great start for longer.

it is amazing how things change ... just like a marriage really. It did look like that picture a year ago and we were dancing to the tune , Guess you can never know a person or what the motives are ... never mind such is life

Hahaha I know, was a good thread at the time. Shame it turned out be a false dawn and other things seemed to be priority for him other than the job at hand

This post epitomises how quickly things can change I guess! If that had been written about MC on the same date a year later it would look totally in place.
Yep. I’ll hold my hands up acknowledge that I was over excited about CW. Something happened along the way to change things. Maybe burnleygate , maybe something else. The players lost motivation for some reason and he didn’t have the guile or personality to change that. I gave him the benefit of doubt and remained hopeful for too long. I was wrong.

Weren’t the only one mate. Plenty of us were on the Wilder train for a good while until it all turned sour

Of course, most of us were. Its just quite sobering reading that a year later and realising how false some false dawns can be.
It is to be fair. I remember the threads too so wasn’t even like it was a shock when I seen it was me who started it. It’s a shame it ended like that but I’m not bothered now. Carrick certainly feels the right fit

Fans expect instant success these days but there is always highs and lows when developing a project. I thought that CW was the real deal and was happy to support him through the lows. For a while there we looked like we were going places. Sad the way it worked out.
