This link came up on my Twitter feed today from Britpop memories, asking if anybody remembers the band The Smiles. Alongside it was the link below to them appearing on TFI. Thought I’d give it a click for a bit of 99s nostalgia and lo and behold the clip starts with Chris Evans introducing them in Middlesbrough T-shirt, surely that’s got to be a good onen 😁

 
Think there was a charity game he played in before one of the finals, was also gazzas mate and did a naked sketch at rockliffe once
 
I sat next to him, Danny Baker and Jimmy 5 bellys (I think it was West Brom away) in the Gazza phase. He spent all game signing autographs, he was really good with everyone who asked to be fair to him.

I always remember him on TFI Friday talking about the previous weekends FA Cup semi final fixtures.....was all over the Boro v Chesterfield game....always remember him saying what a game of football it was.
