China

There seems to be a lot of videos going around of the Chinese cooking dogs alive , bat soup and other disgusting things .
These things can’t be anything new , yet there’s more of it being exposed to us .
At the moment there’s not many country’s that I’ve heard giving China what for regarding this out break .

Question is are these videos being released now to get the public more against China prior to enforcing some kind of punishment?

Yes, I would imagine so. Build up the us and them mentality.

I've seen videos on WhatsApp of areas of London that are busy, the commentary referring to only Asians and east Europeans being out on the streets.

Do you really think traditional Chinese dietary practices are to blame for this sudden outbreak of a new virus?

Not the cooking itself but potentially the quantity and variety of different species, in a confined space, dead and alive with no hygiene controls in potentially to blame yes.

I dont think their diet has anyone to do with the virus . The town where it started is where China's viral center is do its its likely come from there.

Anyone who has been to China long enough will be aware of these wet markets and a number of them do have wild and endangered species.

Due to the corruption and insane population, this will continue to go on sadly, well after the Wuhan virus saga is over.

China is a cesspool for disease and new viruses, Chinese people will often correct you that it's Koreans that eat dogs and not them. But actually if you go to any city or small town in China, you're bound to find a restaurant that sells dishes made out of dog meat sooner rather than later.

As for the us v them mentality, China only has itself to blame for that. They've fallen out with almost every country regarding trade, borders, the South China Sea, tourism, I could go on all day. You have to keep in mind this is a country which considers itself centre of the world, and the people are sheep for believing everything the evil dictatorship spout out.

They are the biggest abusers of human rights, they've put muslim minorities and members of the peaceful Falun Gong in concentration camps. They are the modern day Nazis but the world is s**t scared to do anything because it's China. Ask yourself one question, do you want to live in a world in which China makes the rules? Do you want censorship? no rule of law? xenophobia? surveillance state? because that is exactly what China is. That's why I am getting the hell out of here because it simply isn't safe anymore if you're a foreigner and they're rapidly turning into North Korea.

I lived for 6 months in a 'dog eating part of China' (North East close to North Korean border). Very few Chinese people eat dog in the most prevalent areas. In a city of 2 million, there was one Dog Restaurant.

Well I wouldn't expect you to understand, you've never lived here for several years like I have.

If you knew anything about China then you'll understand it is a culture rife with cheating and lies. That filters down from the government all the way down to the masses. Excuse me for calling China out on the bulls**t they spread like saying America planted the virus in Wuhan and their numbers (cases and fatalities). They tried to cover SARS up and they tried exactly the same this time around by arresting the doctors who uncovered the virus and censoring everything on the internet.

Why the f**k am I even debating this with you anyway? They're an evil regime that give zero f**ks about human life. Tens of thousands have certainly died from this virus in China, add that to the tens of millions perished under their watch. I've got nothing against Chinese people or the country of China, but please just look into how evil this regime is. It is the new Cold War, would you have sides with the USSR all them years ago? Come on, get real.

I've lived in most parts of China for long periods from the mid-eigthies. You don't seem to know much about China. But at least we can now see you want to perpetuate myths in the same way you accuse the Chinese government of.

Why are you even debating something you know nothing about?

Know nothing about? So I guess in these 7 years I've been in China, I still know nothing about it.

China in the mid 80s is not a patch on what it is today. Could you please specify the myths I am accusing the Chinese government of?

Clearly the UN haven't got a clue neither after uncovering the human rights and the suppression of Uyghurs. It beggars belief you're even standing up for a brutal dictatorship. Shame on you.

I couldn't care less about the Chinese leadership. It's the myths about the "Chinese people".
If you knew anything about China then you'll understand it is a culture rife with cheating and lies.

Did you study Mandarin when you were in China by chance? If you did you'll be fully aware of words and expressions that are in relation to fcking others over for your own benefit.

Clearly you don't know much about Chinese education too, if you did you'll be aware it is a cultural norm rather than something immoral. It's not just me but also numerous teachers out here who have first hand experience of cheating in schools, from tests and plagiarism to admissions and corruption.

I could list off examples of intellectual property, trade, scams, sports, government statistics but I'll be here all day.

It's petrifying to see how quickly the masses are brainwashed, the country runs on a cycle of the government spouting propaganda and blaming foreigners and that filters down into society. Have a visit on Weibo and WeChat news, look at what is trending and what always gets deleted. They are sheep who know they are being lied to everyday and suppressed, but they live in a culture obsessed with face and will do anything to save their own face and that of the nation. Somehow the Chinese Communist Party has brainwashed the nation into thinking an attack on them is an attack on the nation. Collectivism at its finest.

I've only ever passed through China, but surely the country of Confucius wouldn't be as bad as Mitch is making out.

Fluent speaking and about 2000 characters, ok for understanding newspapers to some degree. My Chinese friends certainly weren't brainwashed, particularly those who lived through the excesses of the 60s and 70s. My ethnic minority Chinese friends from voluntary work were even more clued up. I wouldn't describe any of my friends as liers and cheaters. I experienced amazing hospitality in poor homes and from strangers. It's the only place someone got up for me and my wife to sit down on a bus. We were 45 and they were 75+.

I know people too who aren't brainwashed, and they can see right through the propaganda, it won't come as a bit of a shock to know that they became my friends. Sadly they make up a very small minority. Why else do you think Chinese people with an ounce of wealth are desperate to flee the country? Just look at the numbers of birth tourism, buying properties abroad and numbers of international students now overseas.

Nero, as for Confuciusm, almost all Chinese culture has been destroyed. Those values were long gone and now there is the lost generation in China based on selfishness. The CCP actually condemned much os Confuciusm as it conflicted with the philosophies and values of the party. If you want to see real civilised people and a civilised philosophy, look no further than Shintoism in Japan.

Some of the most hospitable people I have ever came across too were Chinese, but there's no coincidence this anti foreigner rhetoric in China is coinciding with increases in racism, stricter laws and censorship.

A friend visited a dog restaurant years ago, type who will try anything once.
He said it was custom to place the bones in the middle of the table as you eat, like with ribs.
By the end of the meal, he said, it’s a shame... the dog would’ve loved them.

(Roy Chubby Brown joke).
