Chesterfield deleted their tweet this morning..

How would you feel if they put the England flag above the Union flag? Same thing really. England, UK.
Not sure I understand your question here?.

I think we're discussing something we're not going to agree on. I just find a manufacturer labelling the union jack as the English flag to be inaccurate and therefore bizarre.

As I said, from a commercial point of view the union jack is a bigger brand than the English flag.
It isn't bizarre, it is relatively common.
Not really inaccurate either, England is after all part of the UK.

But it isn't the UK. It's like having an EU flag with the word France above it. Just because of English arrogance and exceptionalism, our rule/cool Britannia or whatever, it's ignorantly associated as the flag of England but ultimately it isn't. The people of Scotland and Wales are part of the United Kingdom but they certainly don't fly that flag associated with their respective countries, wonder why that is?

Again, what I consider to be bizarre is subjective and I've provided my rationale. Whether you like it or not, I find it bizarre and it has been commented on by friends of mine as well. Maybe it's generational, I don't know.
