Checo missed out on P2 by 1 point

So, you agree it won't be forgotten. I guess by saying fans, you also need to include drivers and people .

Not sure whether you're still an a wind up but you do realise you've gone for "it'll all be forgotten about" to "I will forget about it"

I honestly don't get it when you talk like that. I hope you're not deliberately trying to wind up people

Think you are looking too deep ST. The majority won't be talking about it ALL THE TIME. I get it infuriated you but things move on, people forget. Something else will come along. Sky aren't going on about Schumacher crashing into Hill, Piquet crashing on purpose or Ferrari breaking the rules in 2010.

I am not on the wind up. I get it you really care about the integrity and are invested more than most in the sport. But we can all have opinions and mine is that RB won't really care about the Abu Dhabi boos. Fans will forget to a certain extent about the manipulation. It will stop hurting, there will be another thing to be irate about, but it will still be there in the history of the sport. Much like when Schumacher's record is mentioned - 7 time world champion and one of the best drivers we have seen. No one says 'but Hill'.

Next season Ted will be banging on about the cost cap, wind tunnels, maybe a new Ferrari team principle and their strategy and how Mercedes have improved or not. Not how the FIA cocked up the final race.

I didn't say people would be talking about it ALL the time. I also don't think you understand why people are upset if you think people are "hurt" because of it. I also think you're wrong about red bull caring. They'll say they don't obviously. But there'll be subtle jabs in social media and little comments to show they do

I do understand, mainly because I have read what you have said.

Onwards to next season. Should be excellent if Ferrari & Merc can step it up.

I guess we’ll never agree on this which is fair enough. So my finally comment is you’re seriously underplaying the manipulation by thinking it’s just “me” and a few Lewis Hamilton fans that are islet by this. I think deep down you know that people who care about the integrity of the sport are unhappy with what went on

No, I appreciate a lot of people are upset by it.

I do know this, I know lots of people are unhappy.

Please don't confuse me saying 'people will forget about it' meaning 'no one actually cares'. Of course people won't literally forget about it and think it never happened - I mean as time goes on it won't be part of the main story, as it was this weekend.

I don't think any of that is unreasonable to say. I used the example of Schu vs Hill because of this - after a few years it drifts out of the front of our minds and something else comes along. It doesn't mean it wasn't wrong, or that people don't care anymore, it just means time has moved on.

I'm sure Bolton fans aren't talking about Zenden's double kicked penner anymore - but that doesn't mean they aren't still hurting and aren't aggrieved.

Anyway. I hope that explains what I mean, if not let's just leave it. You are a decent chap ST, let's not row over this - I know it means a lot to you (y)
