Monk couldn’t find a formation to suit
Pulis had the exact same record as Monk
Only through sheer necessity did Pulis switch to 3-5-2.. we played our best football under Pulis utilising that system.. it got the best out of the players we had available.
Woodgate had a dream.. he bottled it and then again through sheer necessity was forced to play the 3-5-2.. we played our best football under Woodgate utilising the 3-5-2.. he won manager of the month.. Spence and Coulson we’re revelations!
Warnock steadied the ship, his poundshop nuts and bolts fag packet championship cheer sheet was.. fit for purpose. Out most interesting formation.. we’ll it was a variation of 3-4-3.. I think Isiah Jones was blooded on the left.. it was out of necessity.
Wilder rocks up like he was the first person to invent the 3-5-2.. players fit and suited to the system we had some good moments.. he thought he was better than the club, the players, the fans and he did a massive shyt in the bath.
LEO.. 4-4-2.. I think steadied the ship.. brought confidence back in.. kept it simple and positive with a fighting spirit.. he brought Hackney into the fold.
Carrick.. a bit like Wilder taking over from Warnock.. he inherited a decent squad with some VERY good additions. Like with Wilder we did well and pumped it at the final hurdle.. albeit for different reasons.. fine margins with Carrick.
Now.. I think there is a necessity to the way we play to get the very best out of the best players we have at our disposal.
Pulis didn’t see it
Woodgate didn’t see it
Warnock had a piece
Alan Knill showed it to Wilder who made out like he’d invented fire!
Carrick is still young and inexperienced.. Woodgate has seen it TWICE.. at the very least a conversation needs to be had.
We’re not tearing anything up here by the way.. 1 point from 6 games.. we got to find a way to win.. no point playing well and showing positive signs.. the league doesn’t lie and we don’t get points for XGs!
