Championship teams consider a nuclear option of going into GROUP administration in a move that would make EVERY player a free agent

"Owners and chief executives in the second tier of English football have had conversations about a process known as group administration, the last desperate act to avoid ruin, if no common ground can be found.

It would need the agreement of all 24 clubs and require an enormous amount of trust from all sides, but it would change the face of the English game long beyond the coronavirus pandemic.

Group administration would involve every Championship club being placed into administration on the same day. Staff would be temporarily let go. Entire playing staffs would become free agents."

"Middlesbrough could reform just as they did when chief Steve Gibson saved the club in 1986"

Yes something has to happen, I can't honestly see football starting this year, which, IMHO, makes more acceptable that when, if, football does return, the present season has to finish to have a closure
Just imagine if this present season was null & void & 2020/21 kicked off in January then how would all the fixtures be completed before euros 2021

Just my opinion & that's another story of what you posted but my option goes along with what you posted, writing off 2020/21 season, all clubs have to sort of stand together for the good of the game

There's no actual reason for fixtures to have to finish before Euro 2021 though.

True, do you mean the present season ending (2019/2020) or next season starting, I was referring to the current season being competed, it would be a nightmare if next season started so late it paused for the euro's 2021 & resumed after, delaying the 2021 season from starting on time
Yes over our heads to decide the final outcome

I think we all need to get used to the potential idea that football might not be August-May anymore, or at least not for a very long time.

Perhaps some clubs may reform under more americanised "branding"

I wouldn't be surprised to see some teams be called names after a larger geological area - rather than just a town

Teesside United
Tyneside Warriors
Humberside Tigers

Etc, etc.- personally I'd prefer to keep the Middlesbrough name... perhaps we could add ironopolis

The best option for all is to finish this season behind closed doors as soon as possible.
Then if large gatherings are permanently banned clubs will have to budget accordingly going forward.

Start playing games at the end of April and alot of adminstrative nightmare can he avoided including many lawsuits

Even once football gets the go ahead to restart, how long would it take to start actual games? Surely the players will be well off match fitness by then.

Social distancing applies to footballers, so how would it be possible to play behind closed doors?

I don't see how they can restart until we are back in to some kind of normality, football is a physical game and contact is needed to play, which will mean there would be a need for a paramedic and/or ambulance in attendance, which means one less in the fleet that could be needed elsewhere.
