Casemiro to Man U

Not sure if this will work, I mean Varane and Ronaldo have they worked out? I'd be half tempted to say Casemiro will come into this bracket.

Whatever happened to Man Utd buying from the PL? Fergie used to do it all the time and it worked like a charm, buying the cream of the crop for teams in the division, the examples would make a very long list.

One of many things about that club I just do not understand.
Ferguson used to keep a strong spine in place and just add quality here and there. He did pay massive money for Rooney and Ferdinand et al but he also picked up players like Vidic, Heinze, Schmeichel, Park, Solskjaer et al - and loads of others - for very modest fees.

Manchester United are just a very expensive version of the Sunderland team that spent years escaping relegation before buckling and slipping into the third tier. No real plan, a variety of managers, coaches and playing styles and a mess of a squad not fit for purpose.

They do have some good quality in theory but strip it back to basics. It’s a fact that they need a new ‘keeper if they want to play how Ten Hag wants them to play. That’s a fundamental component of his system. Are they going to sell and replace De Gea in the next fortnight? I wouldn’t have thought so. So the plan falls down before they get out of their own box(like at Brentford, ba dum dum shhh).

It’s absolutely mental they went into a league campaign with a goalkeeper who can’t play out from the back. It’s a complete lack of planning and joined up thinking. It’s almost a dereliction of duty TBH.

They need a right back, at least one more centre back, left back, about three midfielders, at least two strikers. They still have Jones, Lindelof, Martial, Bailly, Dalot and Wan Bissaka hanging around. They’re nowhere near it. Varane has been a disaster, they’ve ruined Maguire, Ronaldo is a massive pain in the arsé and nigh-on impossible to manage, Rashford and Sancho haven’t played well for around a year, Fernandes has disappeared… he doesn’t even score penalties now.

Casemiro might be brave on the ball and get stuck into tackles but they need way, way more than him. And, much like Varane, you *think* you’re signing a top-class player but in reality he’s probably on his way down now. How many players at the top of their game does Madrid sell? Exactly.

It’s an absolute mess at Old Trafford. I can’t get enough of it.

Their transfer strategy is virtually non existent but whatever it is they’re doing, they’re doing it in public. Why would any self respecting player want to go there? They are having to offer ridiculous money to convince players to sign. They are no longer the club they were. It’s a bizarre situation, but as others have said it’s great to watch.

I think Casemiro is a very good player who was playing with some incredible players around him. I am really interested to see how he does in this United team without having Modric & Kroos by his side. He will improve United, but will not transform them to title challengers.

Also agree with the above points about Camavinga. Incredible talent who may well be thrust into more game time now. Really excited to see how he does this season.

It's very surprising. I simply don't see what draw UTD have these days. Also especially leaving Madrid.

Then again I read he's on around 300k a week. Christ 😂. Due to his age he's going to have little or no resale value.

The wage bill at UTD must be stunning. Ronaldo is on 500k a week / De Gea 350k and the list goes on. I mean even Henderson was on 120k.

They seem to have a very scatter gun approach to signings. They have been buying a lot of 'big names' who are arguably on the decline.
