I thought carrick put the woodgate stuff to bed quite will. It was about him and his relationship with woody. I’m fully on board with woodgate now, especially as they said they are looking for an assistant for him

Well, having watched that I am excited about Michael Carrick. He is obviously delighted to be here and I thought he spoke very well. It was also great to hear from Kieran Scott. I was really disappointed that it didn't work out with Wilder, but reading between the lines Wilder was the cause of that.
The Woodgate appointment remains a concern, and of course, we really need some reinforcements on the pitch. There is no getting away from the fact that we failed to get key targets over the line this summer, (although I concede we tried to do a lot of business, so perhaps it was just a bridge too far for one window) and some parts of the team aren't good enough given the stated ambitions. Our midfield is awful and everyone could see that coming. Let's see what the club can do to back Carrick in January, because it needs to be sorted out.

Yep.A teessider, a mackem and Geordie turned up to take Middlesbrough training.
The players turned to each other and said "Is this some sort of a joke?"
We`ve a Head Coach who is an ex Captain of England, born in Newcastle, who played for Boro as a lad and his dad played in Boro reserves.
We have a Boro Academy graduate who played in the UEFA Cup final in Eindhoven, then spent 10 years with the Mackems - becoming Captain. Hes now under 18s coach at Boro.
There is also a Mackem who Captained Boro to the Premiership, who briefly joined the Mackems and is now a coach at the Boro!
We have a first team coach who started his career at Boro, to whom he returned three times - once on loan, then on contract and then as Boro Manager. During his career he played for the Skunks!

I think selling yhe club to a player is important. And if the salesmanship is boring im sure the club will sound boring. Not all about money. The project by a club is commonly said by players as being annattraction too.

New managers generally all come across full of positivity and enthusiasm and Carrick was no different, but I would also say he came across as very authentic and thats a much rarer trait.
Scott seems to have cleared up the speculation that some of the signings weren't Wilders and that the latter was pushing for a move elsewhere and wasn't in it for the long haul, but most interestingly now feels that Carrick is the first of the last three managers to fit with the new structure that he is part of.
Altogether I think there was a lot to be positive about, without underplaying our league position and the work needed of course.

To be fair to Bausor, ive been in his company at a Boro supporters event and he struck me as a nice fella, had good craic and wanted the best for Boro and was very enthusiastic. I can only speak as i find.
Thats something i know to be correct, everything else on here about him is all fabricated gossip.

Wilder said every player signed was a team decision!! I don’t get the beef with Bausor? He’s a commercial guy. Dull? Fcuk me.. what do you want? Hawaiian shirt and a straw hat? We want the best players we can get.. we are not the first choice for any club that wants to give their prized player away for nothing. It doesn’t happen like that!!

Scott saying that Carrick doesn't seem to have "an ambition to move quickly" was definitely a veiled dig at Wilder like. All but confirms that our instincts were right on him.
I liked the comment made, "probably already bored him to death" though, when he referred to his relationship with Carrick and their offices being next to each other. It encourages me to think that Scott is an enthusiastic character, which is what we want.
I can just imagine him bursting into Carrick's office every 5 minutes, with some stats he's printed off transfermarkt.

He’s defo whipped out his dream list of Man Utd u21s!!
Keiron Scott will be like a kid in a candy shop with Michael Carrick and there’s no doubt that Carrick himself will want to find his own Rooney, Ronaldo & Ferdinand to have in his team. HIS TEAM by the way, that’s a pretty big difference from Wilder not wanting academy lads or Warnock’s players.

Hopefully they will already be liasing with regards to which players to target. Karanka was able to use his Mourinho connection to bring Bamford here. Would be great if we could being in a player of similar potential.
First and foremost we need a few points with the present squad of players to give us some breathing space before the World Cup. Then we can start to dream and plan. But looking at the table there is a lot of work to do on the training pitch and breathe belief back into the players.
