Carricks press conference 3pm

I'm feeling confident and I don't want to bring any negativity to the table, but dear me Mr Scott, you're in a press conference and you chose THAT tie! I might be thinking ahead here but if we make a cup final don't let this man anywhere near choosing the cup final suits!

Scott also said every player signed is a team decision. Wilder might disagree. Mind if bausor is involved in tbe process of deciding what is a good player then i dont blame managers for grumbling about the process. What a dull personality bausor is. No wonder we struggle to entice players here.

Hurrah, someone manages to use the press conference as an excuse to have a go at Bausor - think I've got a full house on the toxic fans bingo card.

I'm sure many football deals have fallen down because of the personality of the CEO, you hear about it so often.

"...the money was right, the club was right, the manager wanted me but I just thought the CEO was a bit dull and so I didn't sign for them....."

Little dig at Wilder there in terms of "a manager who is looking to move on quickly"....
That was the most obvious.. but lots of talk about the academy and keeping the club tougher, maintaining the link with the academy too. I liked that Keiran Scott put to bed the idea that the club signed players without the managers approval. Reading interviews with Wilder he confirmed the very same.. he was very much part of the recruitment team which he slagged of so much this season.

My favourite parts of his Carrick’s interviews and pressers have been the immediate and genuine grin after the suggestion of following Bryan Robson’s footsteps and the matter of fact response to picking up loans and bargains from Man Utd! Well eye!!

Early impressions of Michael Carrick.. I’m getting strong Steve McClaren vibes from the way he speaks (in a good way) along with understanding and comfort of England manger era Gareth Southgate.

Something along the lines of.. 'it makes me laugh when I read some of the nonsense and rumours around recruitment and how it works behind the scenes, when nobody really knows when you're on the outside and not working within the club'.

The wording may be different, that's from memory, but it was something like that from Scott.
Clearly Keiran Scott is on the message boards.. my money is on Nobby Barnes!

I think Carrick and Scott came across very well indeed. Carrick very much appears to fit the ethos of the club in terms of how important the academy is and the value of the club to the local area. I don’t think Wilder ever really got either things.

I’m not slagging him off but the difference between Carrick and Woodgate when speaking to the press is like night and day. Carrick seems to have very considered and thought out answers, which he articulates very well. Can’t ever imagine him saying the league table is lying 🤣

Scott came across well too I thought, definitely wanted to set a few things straight. This very much feels like Scott’s first proper appointment for me. How long has he been in the job when Wilder was appointed? 2 months?

poor Scott. Didn’t look comfortable in the media setting. Body language expert might say something about scratching his nose when talking with working with Michael.

Thought look north asked there best questions. Open questions and tough as well

Let's see when he's under pressure, which Woodgate was when he made those comments.
