Carrick v Eustace

I think we have much better players individually than Blackburn 11 v 11 today.
Unfortunately they have a manager who knows how to set a team up.
Whether that be by fair means or foul doesn't matter to me.
They were the better team by a million miles today.
They knew how to win throw ins, win free kicks, influence the referee all of which we are completely clueless at.
2 minutes injury time today, last week Leeds were in a similar situation to us today against Blackburn, 10 mins injury time which eventually became 12 mins.
This doesn't happen by chance it is completely about getting at ref and influencing him.
We unfortunately are going nowhere under Carrick.
Even if we got to the play offs, we cant win at home and Wembley phhh!

Sorry forgot to add we are sh*te at set pieces as well, attacking or defending. Corners, free kicks even goal kicks, any time Barlaser is involved really.

Our corners very rarely have any guile or imagination. Hoof and hope, if it even beats the first defender!. Where’s the training ground invention. Try something different. We rarely go off piste, same old crappy failed routines hit and hope.

And yet we are two points ahead of them in the league, so by that obvious measure I'm not sure your arguement holds much water?

I’m pretty sure we are quite high up on goals from corners. I was quite shocked but sky showed the stat.

The main problem is we’ve let Barlaser take them and Azaz was taking much better corners at the start of the season.

Whenever Barlaser starts he seems to take everything but his delivery is very predictable and mostly poor, other players should be demanding the ball but no one else seems too.

As you say Azaz was taking things previously too.

good players wanting out says it all about our manager they dont want to spend another 2 seasons in this league while daydreamer learns his trade.

Eustace will become Mark Robins. Or even Guardiola for some on this board.
More of a Sean Dyche type for me. His teams will be hard to beat, well organised and aim to get a goal on the break if they can, boring to watch though mildly successful across a season.

I'm thinking if John eustace was the manager of Boro now, what would Boro play like?
How many players will you use for attack and how many for defense?
I don't argue that Blackburn have good results, but I wonder if the fans will like this tactic.
Think about Blackburn getting promoted, what kind of tactics would they use to defend as a whole team as they often do?
If that's the case, we'll probably need to find defenders to defend, rather than midfielders and forwards.
But I don't see how doing that will save you from relegation. It might have been possible in the past, but it's probably difficult now because you'll have to defend the whole game.
It's important to have some control of the game, we don't have to do it like Russell Martin.
But having the ball in our possession greatly reduces the chances of us being attacked.
This is why Steve Bruce or Mike Phelan will never get another Premier League job again.
