Carrick post-match interview: "I don't think there was loads in the game, to be honest" [Transcript]

Blackburn didn't batter us. It was a really dull game, and we played in to their hands with our slow play. They had a couple of better chances than us but overall very little happened for either team
They had three absolute sitters and should have had a penalty

I think Eustace has shared our number at The Riverside with the rest of the managers in the Championship

Incredible those comments from Carrick, shows how much pressure he’s under when he just starts to tell us we’ve seen something different from what we’ve seen with our own eyes.
It should’ve been 0-3 today and that would’ve been a fairer result.
Carrick delusional alongside the chancer Woodgate.
Who would you want in as manager then Mr Know it all?

It was like a pre season friendly.. with the sole intention of giving Hamilton & McCabe a run out.

McCabe passed with flying colours and looked every bit the young Hackney he has been made out to be.

'His hair is fine' also if anyone is into that sort of palaver!

Hamilton is not the player folks think he is.. he's not a traditional winger like Doak.. he's something different.. he's been pep's into submission. Short controlled passes., ball retention.. no mistakes.

Very conservative style of play considering his skill level.. I don't feel as if he's found himself yet in the team and he looked like he lacked confidence.. the confidence to take a chance and do something really special.

He's more McGree than Doak.. he linked up well with Barlaser at times and seemed if he was looking to him for guidance or assurance.

Barlaser has been getting a lot of stick recently.. and I can understand why.. but I don't think that it's warranted.

He turned up fit and ready to go.. tasked with getting McCabe and Hamilton up to speed. He did a decent job.

I think that Clarke might be away.. his mind seemed elsewhere and he didn't look like the bearded Matt Clark from last season. #BringBackTheBeard

Edmunson has been off the book and isn't exactly inspiring thoughts of a permanent contraction the summer.

DIJKSTEEL IS THO! He looked tremendous in an otherwise stale team performance. Shop window display? Kieran Scott will face a nigh on impossible task to bring more than two or three players in this window.

Glover has done well before today.. but that Lumley ticking clock of consistency rang 12 today and he turned into a pumpkin.. how Blackburn missed two open goals I do not know..it's almost like we forced the win on them.. even tho they didn't want to take it! Loan keeper incoming..

Engel coming back from a long term injury was very promising.. some great Hollywood balls getting sprayed around and some general decent footy showing he is still our top dog at left back.

McGree was a little less promising.. treading water in that post injury/pre injury period he seems finds himself in of late.

Burgzorg playing the Wanchope 9 today looked like he was working hard to get something going.. lots of ideas from him today.. even coming from really deep ala Akpom and seriously put a shift in.. needs to find his identity in the squad I think and be given the chance to really show what he can do.

Gilbert had some nice bits of movement.. he did ok today aswell.. positive play got a couple of shorts off.. he looks interesting and a good deputy to Azaz.

Marcus Forss was a worry as I thought he looked goosed on the U21 games before he picked up another injury.
Came on and looked bright.. very bright.. the old Forss. Nice!

Latte came on like he was waiting for his move to West Ham.. Hackney came on like a slightly older McCabe.. but not much in it.

The officials were light years ahead of Cardiff and even the stewards seemed like they had a bit of a freshen up.. definitely less bellend behaviour from them this week.

Red Faction tried their best.. but 12 o'clock kick off in the freezing cold against Blackburn on the backdrop of losing Jones, Latte on the way and Doak in question. TOUGH!

Good Luck to Kieran Scott! We need to be solid gold after January.. fingers crossed we can do something sis isl in the window and bring a bit of a zing back into the fanbase.

Carrick IN
the alternative is too horrific to imagine.

seen a few boro staff in darlo tonight.. ITK? yerjokinanya!

Players suffering from lack of competition and cover in some areas of the squad.. get it sorted!

Just fact man. Who said it was an excuse?
So what about Newcastle beating Arsenal at the Emirates in the Cup? Arsenal are a so called ‘bogey’ team but they beat them. Is that result null and void because of history?

No, they beat them because they were better on the day, not because of some myth. If we were better on the day than Blackburn, we would likely have beaten them.

Of course, if we were better we would likely have beaten them but…. we weren’t better and in much the same manner Eustace has twice out managed Carrick in his last 2 visits to the Riverside. That’s the fact.
