Carrick now 1/10

I think it could be really exciting if he brings some of the ex-United backroom staff. Them lot aren't daft, plenty of experience there and they won't put up with some of the bullsh*t i can imagine has been going around the place.
Manchester United has been a hotbed of batsh*t bullsh*t, constant media leaks, open dissent and player revolt, unfulfilled potential and criminal overspending for a decade.

In the words of Mrs Merton, “Michael, what was it that attracted you to an underachieving football club constantly trying to get back to it’s glory days of almost 20 years ago…”

I don't understand the view that he's a potential poor appointment, due his his inexperience?

Robson, SMAC and Aitor all had similar or less experience.

Compared to Strachan, Pulis and Warnock, who were all hugely experienced.

I know which three I enjoyed being our manager more, by some distance.
I agree it's not like appointing Lee Cattermole, who may well in the future turn out to be a good manager/coach but is not the answer for us at the moment IMO. Carrick has been involved as a coach and caretaker manager at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Yes he has limited experience as the actual no 1 so it does represent something of a gamble. Hopefully he'll bring some experience with him as assistants. For me he's the best option of those touted so I am relatively happy about it.

He wouldn't have been my first choice but I'm just relieved it isn't going to be Cattermole. I'll feel a lot more reassured also if he brings his own staff.

Stand out appointment for me given what's available.
A young coach already well respected in the game.
