CarPlay stopped working

Connecting my iPhone to my car console has suddenly stopped working. Tried various iPhones, with various iOS releases, and none of them now work when they have until recently.

Tried both with a cable connection (phone is charging) and Bluetooth (not recognising phone at all).

Anyone else had issues recently? Tried various fixes I’ve googled but none worked.
 
I had a problem a few weeks ago - just changed the usb lead.

Not sure if it’s of any help but mine was doing something similar on occasions but I resolved the issue by removing the iTunes from my phone
 
Reset stereo?

On my Skoda (same on VW) hold the power button down for 10 seconds and it comes back on and usually works.

Give something similar a go on your head unit.
 
Had it on my Dacia, many threads suggested it was the lightning usb cable…
My iPhone had just updated too…
Then all of a sudden it started working again… 🤷🏼‍♂️
 
Had no end of trouble with ours.

Ended up buying a wireless adapter which stays plugged in. You connect your phone to it by Bluetooth only. Works pretty well.
 
Does it normally connect automatically or manually? Is it possible you have gone off the car play option on the display?

I'd double check you're connected to the correct USB port if there are more than one. Try a different cable. Then remove and repair your connection.

Should connect automatically.

Tried both usb ports and two different cables, both are connected as they charge the phone but just don’t start CarPlay.
 
Reddit is always a good source of information for stuff like this - I've just checked and there's an 'Apple Carplay' subreddit that seems to be fairly active.
 
I had an issue with one phone recently (another phone works fine), found I have to manually select car play from the cars menu for it to connect now. No idea why, no updates to car or phone when it stopped working
 
Im curious to find out what this problem is and how to fix it - give us an update when you do Yearbyred (y)
