I wonder if Gibbo has decided against employing foreign managers after the fall out with Karanka?
 
He never has been in the running, even when some journalists were reporting that it was between him and Carrick.

From what I have been told he would have too many demands in terms of control. Don't think he would fit under the model we are looking at in terms of Scott having more influence. He wouldn't be a yes man
 
Fingers crossed Scott knows what he is doing then!
We do need a Manager who buys into the project though.
I had high hopes when Wilder arrived that he would be open to working with an FD, especially given the calamitous players he (?) bought when he was at Sheff Utd. Thinking that perhaps he had experienced how hard it was to get recruitment right and that he would welcome support on this front.

Perhaps Wilder felt he was mis-sold the opportunity here.
I think Gibbo genuinely thought we could get the right players in (Gyorkores) at reasonable prices perhaps underestimating the demands of the selling clubs involved.

I think that his hope now is that other Champo Clubs will weaken their demands.
Hopefully we'll make further enquiries during the winter break.
The UK is in a huge recession and Clubs like Coventry will struggle to maintain their prices given their current league positioning.

The only positive at the moment is that we have cash in the bank and maintain a good FFP position
 
I think there's definitely a possibility that one side has reneged on their side of their bargain when the contract was signed.
