Cancer related fatigue

Has anybody had any experience of this and got any advice about what worked for them as I'm constantly really drained and tired and it seems to be getting worse, not better with time.
I should probably add that my treatment is ongoing and isn't a traditional cycle of chemotherapy or radiotherapy which will come to an end.

Sorry to hear this and hope that your treatment is going well and is ultimately successful.

I would hazard a guess that the problem may be psychological, that the stress of your situation is having an effect on your physical health. But I'm no expert at all. I do believe that our minds are important tools in the recovery process whether it is cancer or any other illness/infection/affliction. Speak to your GP and your Consultant. Get advice from the nurses.

Stay strong stay positive. Best wishes. Love and peace.

As a non-clinician but someone who works in public health around palliative care, ageing & frailty what you're mentioning is a well-known and difficult issue to deal with. There aren't (to my knowledge) any routinely prescribed drugs and I wouldn't give advice anyway because I'm not qualified and don't know your situation.

It may sound a bit odd but I'm currently working on green social prescribing which is about how activities in natural places can be helpful when dealing with things like CRF. You might be able to ask your GP about it. Various types things and can be done in groups or alone. Usually combines a bit of fairly gentle activity somewhere outside in nature with some sort of task, even if it's just identifying plants. Doesn't sound much but it can be surprisingly effective not just for helping with physical exhaustion but also the mental exhaustion and stress that comes along with cancer and its treatment.

Sorry to read that mate. Sending you positive thoughts and good wishes.
No practical help sadly. Not my area.
Enjoying your photos still. Very much.

Good luck mate, you will beat this👍

This is something I suffer from too...quite badly some days...I get soooo frustrated as my body doesn't want to do anything. It's a very common side effect from cancer treatment (I had 8 rounds of chemo and 15 radio...finishing 3 weeks ago). All you can do is listen to your body...don't push anything....you have to remember you have put it through a hell of a lot of punishment and it's going to take time.
I wish you well with your treatment and recovery x

As another that has had treatment I was wiped out.
Looking back I started getting fatigue before I was diagnosed.
Almost 1 year from finishing my treatment I'm still not back to full fitness. Very far from it.
But, everyday I try to get better. Watching my diet helps, planning what I do also helps.
I try to stay away from to many activities to close together.
Plan in rest days, I do and it helps.

Wishing all sufferers the best for recovery.

The good lady swordtrombonefish has been through the same thing and even now three years after a stem cell transplant and more medication than I could now count, she still has days and sometimes a week when she is totally flat. She does still take some steroids and a course of strong medication so can sort of gauge when it will hit and we try to plan around it. She struggles with stamina - we walk or she uses a treadmill and exercise bike I got for her when the weather is inclement, we've tried vitamins, herbal remedy's like ashwagandha, ginseng and others but they have had limited impact on energy and stamina - but you could give them a whirl because such treatments are different for people.

I wish I had something more positive to give you but as mentioned above it is a well publicised issue with no clear answers.
I do hope you find something that helps you get at least some of that energy and stamina back.
