Was reading earlier, that our record for wins in a row was in the '70s at some point, was it?? .. Before my time, but believe it was nine league games. The way we're looking at the moment I see no reason we can't try to beat that ...
The only thing is, I am anxious just like everyone else is about knocks and injuries catching up. Losing the likes of Smith for the season is a blow to me, he contributes so much to the spirit of this side and is an important player, his experience has done us really well.
That is what I love about this season, I have never seen such an enthusiastic and able bench. No sulking on the sidelines. They come on and they deliver. Like Morgan vs Brum, Silvera last night. Carrick's man management must be brilliant.
Concerned Hackney is unavailable for Stoke. I am glad this fixture is at home firstly, they're on a good run like us now and Neil is a great manager I think ... I was looking at the table, and can't believe how tight it is down to almost mid-table, we're 11 points off Ipswich in second but only 2 points off Leeds in 3rd! Crackers .. who would have thought that a few weeks back?
Credit to the team and Carrick. We've been so much better defensively and seems like things are almost getting finely tuned all over the pitch, shame we couldn't manage that fourth clean sheet last night, but couldn't stop their late goal-worldy strike that was!
I am praying we get another win vs a very good Stoke side and get closer to this record. I'd love Carrick to match/break it. A perfect day would be if other results go our way and we could end up a lofty 3rd!!
Who thinks we're gonna do it???
