Bye bye right to peaceful protest

its gone through...to 2nd reading in the house,

People on here tried to warn you all after a few weeks of the first lockdown.
Were called conspiracy theorists.

Well then....

Big old slurp of beer and "we told you so". 😉

Johnson could get 10 years for being seriously annoying? Patel would also get 10 but would probably serve 20 since she is not very good with numbers.

Sounds like the sort of legislation we need.

You aren't even attempting to discuss the issue anymore. You're just concentrating on a personal attack.

Let me ask you this: Do YOU think that one of the aims of Brexit was to take us away from the ECHR? Yes or no answer
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water , the other Erimus Twin shows up!

I'll answer your question - no I don't think it was one of the drivers

That is interesting. Given it’s been cited on here before and there is certainly a broader comment from brexiters about not wanting to be beholden to European laws and judiciary: how did you formulate your opinion? Given how I’ve just told you why I suspect it may be an issue

So...just give a yes or no answer really means , explain your reasoning so you can create yet another meaningless debate

Just to clarify - you specifically mentioned ECHR not European Law and judiciary - this is what you do, you get an answer and have to open up the debate until you think you can jump on somebody views

Your question was binary just like the referendum

However I can honestly say that what would or wouldn't happen regarding ECHR didn't play a part on why I voted Leave

And the lead story on all bar one of the news bulletins tonight, Prince phillip leaves hospital
Is it the right time to point out that all the people that make up the institution of the monarchy are Viscounts, Dukes, Knights, and Tory MPs and Tory Hereditary Peers. They're all in it together with this government to keep the status Quo as a minimum and, if possible reverse progressive laws like the right to vote, workers rights and human rights, because these rights stop them exploiting people.

But you can’t stop a good idea, not for long anyway.

For those on the Left it often feels like we lose battles so often when it comes to elections, that we are fighting the long defeat.

The truth is the Right are astonishingly adept rearguard fighters and enact brilliant tactical withdrawals and counter attacks, but the ultimate outcome of the war is already decided. The Left operate at the strategic level of ideas and operationally, they are geared up for that fight best, because that is the preserve of the young and there is always another generation coming along.

So take heart.

I think the Right would also say that Labour are excellent at setting the agenda even when not in power.

This is by playing on the fears of the Right that if they don’t do certain things for the common good that somebody like Corbyn will get in and take all their money from them.

So although it can seem demoralising that so many ordinary people will lean towards the Tories for some reason, it’s important to keep saying the nurses deserve a bigger rise, that more nuclear weapons is wasted money, that we don’t want a police state, that women should be able to be safe on the streets, that the rich should pay more tax, the NHS should not be privatised, that employment rights must be maintained etc etc.

You can do a lot when not in power, look what the likes of Farage and Salmond did without ever stepping foot in Westminster.

You missed the point. I was giving other Erimus the chance to stop his bullying by trying to see if he could engage in the question.

European human rights laws are part of European laws? Whats the separation? What am I missing? At least you admit you didn't vote leave based on that. I think you'll find it was a driver though. Hence the original point about this being about Brexit is valid.

Britain’s secret political police

"A shocking story of how a special squad of Britain’s Metropolitan Police, in collusion with MI5 – the domestic ‘security’ service – secretly infiltrated hundreds of UK political and campaign groups, and the question of whether the spying continues. As told by Asa Winstanley, who has personal experience."

I don’t think it’s any surprise is it?

Didn‘t MI5 tap the phones of union leaders and activists in the 1970’s?

I always thought that was it’s job? Whenever I hear about MI5 or gchq tapping phones I always think: “well good, that’s what we are paying them for”. I guess the liaisons with the met is due to the terrorist risk in London ?
