But Brexit...

Would likely have happened anyway (that's what the Brexit faithful tell us when anything bad happens so...)

As with anything it's swings and roundabouts but those that wanted to remain and obviously lost can't see it that way. Shame really.

My big issue with Brexit is it has created uncertainty where it didn’t need to exist. We had lots of inward investment when we were in there EU. The worry remains will the benefits outweigh the deficits? Nobody knows but why take the risk?

The first three words of the article are literally "undeterred by Brexit". So it's not happened because of Brexit. It's just that Brexit hasn't stopped it happening.

Great news of course, but is this really where brexiters are with their argument now? "Some good stuff is still happening despite brexit, so there".

Hardly a ringing endorsement is it?

Good, it will certainly help to fill the £200 Billion gap lost in economic growth up to December 2020.

Because one bit of good news is outweighed by the rest of the shidtstorm.

Yeah this is great, add it to the Blue passports and the fish. Well maybe not the fish...
As Johnson leaves number 10 for good (a day I am really looking forward to) - goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

A free port is what we want and would not be possible without Brexit. The applications need to be in by Feb 5th and decision made in spring. We're one of the favourites for the first free port with another 9 also planned. Would be the biggest investment in the area in my lifetime I'd imagine and I'm confident we'll get it. It's a big port with long history and we're an area with lots of skilled individuals, many who currently have to work elsewhere. Brexit will be fantastic for our region

FFS yes it is, there are "Free Ports" in Italy and France.
Brexit will be fantastic for our region
I hope it is.
It points out that companies are massively investing in the UK despite Brexit
Is correct, but not BECAUSE of Brexit.

Brexit has not (so far) made us any more attractive to foreign investment. Investment welcome as it is was coming before and is still coming which is great but does not prove anything.

The free ports in EU are under much more restrictions so they're not free as the UK ones will be. We couldn't have the type of free ports we are panning if we were in the EU. Hence the timing of them. Talk of 20k -30k jobs created would be fantastic

It points out that companies are massively investing in the UK despite Brexit, something we were told would not happen. Which obviously]y was just a lie
Yes but they aren’t investing in the UK due to brexit, which is what the OP was suggesting

Not sure he said that. Think he was saying that they're still investing regardless of Brexit. We were being led to believe that virtually all investment into the Uk would cease and we'd now be living under ground in bunkers, fighting off the post Brexit apocalypse.

Hasn't this already been covered at length on here?

It was WoW and if I recall the news was welcomed by all generally. I even learned what a Unicorn is. Not sure why the need to bring it up again mind.

Why do you say that? We've already discussed this and all agreed it was a success story.

Poor brexiteers, clinging to a story that may not be brexit related and having to recycle it and (as is their way) lying by saying everyone is ignoring it.
