Burnley Madness

Two very winnable games coming up, back to back home games against Southampton (tomorrow) and Wolves (Saturday). To have removed their entire first team management and coaching staff and not have replacements in place for these games seems like utter madness. Six points or even four points might actually move them above Everton. Then anything could happen.

I find the silence from the first team squad mystifying, they must of been gagged by the club hierarchy.

Southampton and Wolves are their most difficult imo after that 4 points from 5 games looks very doable.

Very attractive position for a championship manager.. especially if it’s one with nothing to play for.

Like if we get beat by Swansea.

I meant in terms of his sacking, there hasn’t been much in the way of players thanking him, wishing him well etc
Oh sorry Burnley players - no, you are right there. The whole thing is weird. Almost like the Pozzo family have suddenly moved north and taken over.

Everton away at the likes of Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn, and Wigan would be unreal, they will be like a bigger version of Man City when they were down here. ( imo)

Everton will be a beast in the Championship!
They surely will have no relegation clauses in contracts. Parachute payments would normally take care if that but have they replaced their Russian oligarch backer and are they committed to the stadium move he was financing?

The stadium move is all covered apparently and will be built. Where they will struggle though is with meeting FFP as they already massively exceeded it with PL money but have seemingly been allowed the losses due to Covid. They would be hit massively by the reduction in income. They have a lot of poor players on big contracts they'll struggle to shift. They can probably put a dent in it a bit by offloading a couple of their better players but then they are left with players that won't be happy being stuck in the championship and not much money to buy new players. They would probably overspend and gamble on getting back up straight away like Newcastle have done in the past but there are no guarantees. If they fail at the first attempt they could fall hard.

I disagree they'll be financially ruined despite the parachute payments. Everton get relegated and they'll not be back in the PL in a hurry.
I’d like to think so but I cant see Everton doing a Leeds or Sheff Wed somehow. I hope they do but their set up is different and with the new stadium it will provide the good feel factor for a promotion push.

Nah, with their core they could very well Sean Dyche it back to the premier league. Heeeyyy maybe that's what it was? Sean Dyche being tapped up by Everton!!

For me Frank Lampard has dropped a bollokc - anti football to the end of the season to scrape what ever the can from these last games. Every single point will be vital!!

Diffierent timing but it reminds me of when we fired Karanka and had no plan in place and drifted out of the league.
For Burley to do it with 4 games left, when they actually finally have an opporunity to stay up (due to Everton's poor form) is just bizarre.
