British Christmas TV Highlights

US terrestrial TV sucks, so I am in the mood hitting the sofa and catching up on some of the best bits from British Christmas TV. What have I missed? What's worth watching? Any decent Xmas specials like QI or HIGHNFY this year?

On a connected note. I'm sad that Netflix didn't do a Death To 2022 this year.

Nothing. It's been terrible. The best things I saw were on BBC2 on Christmas Day - The Fast Show from (I think) 1998 and a Morecambe and Wise show featuring Glenda Jackson (but not that one).

Detectorists
Gone Fishing
Christmas Carole
Doc Martin
Rob & Romesh (Disney on Ice)
Call the Midwife
Escape to the Chateau (last ever one)

I love the 2 of them but I just cannot enjoy the fishing programme. Something jars with me. Maybe not liking seeing people I admire getting old?
I know what you mean. We bumfaces, and regular humans like you all get old mate, but Ted is the real star of that show and Ted will live forever.

Motherland was alright, but other than that I've just been watching the new Jack Ryan series on Prime.

After a decade and counting of naff Christmas TV, we need to accept that it's not worth moaning about anymore.

Christmas TV was dreadful this year, I wouldn’t recommend anything.

I watched Gone Fishing and The King on Xmas Day. Other than that I’ve been watching the Darts.

Caught (entirely by accident) the last ten minutes of Eastenders on Xmas Day. Hilariously bad it was.

Watched nothing on Christmas Day. All Creatures Great and Small on C5 (C-Eve?) was good soppy stuff and Gone Fishing was OK.

If you have Sky/Now Cinema "The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents" was very good indeed.
