Steele played for us as a very young keeper during a pretty sh*tty era. He wasn't as bad as some make out, but similar to Pears Jr was too young and inexperienced.

Obviously worked hard at his game and became a solid #2. Then given a chance has grasped it with both hands.....and his oversized keepers gloves. And the rest. Fair play.

Doesn't look out of place in the PL, playing in a very good Brighton team.

I think players like Steele expose the acute lack of knowledge of some of our fans who expect young or new players to be outstanding from day one.
