Brighton fans stabbed in Rome

How many times will this happen?
It seems this is every time english clubs go to italy, particularly Rome.

Are they waiting for x amount of people to be killed by these cowards?
We all just know that, one on one, without weapons, things would be very, very different.

It will get paid lip service and then swept to one side.

I would never go and watch football in Italy again.
I made the vow of never returning to Italy for a match too when we were kept on the buses before the game and the police, in full riot gear, were walking up and down the aisle, banging their night sticks against the seats, just hoping for a response.

What about that young woman telling one bloke that if got off the bus ( as sick of waiting and said he’ll walk it) that if he did he could die.

Italians don't travel, remember Boro being able to sell more Tickets for the Lazio Home game, when they couldn't sell their allocations, don't remember many Roma fans coming across either?

I think it's changed more recently, with lots turning up at Liverpool, Leicester etc and causing bother.

Maybe they didn’t fancy a couple of pints in the Pig Iron, followed by an evening’s entertainment at Club Bongo?

Advice from their club..
Arrive early at Stadio Olimpico, as delays expected
• Bags no larger than A4 permitted
• There will be up to 60-min hold back post match, at discretion of local police, please follow the advice of Roma and #BHAFC stewards in the away end
To be fair, that’s less strict than Sunderland away that is. And I’ve had worse moments in Sunderland than I had in Rome. It’s a disgrace you have to follow the kettled buses system in this day and age. But at least in Rome they worked.

Yeah, before we get too sanctimonious is it worth pointing out that it’s English supporters that have a record of killing people at European football matches not Italians?

If you’re arguing for the same rules that would mean when they kill dozens they get banned. But they haven’t yet.
No, just stabbed dozens in premeditated, cowardly attacks. That’s ok then is it?
Edit: I’m no Scouse apologist, been chased through Stanley Park a couple of times, but many of the casualties would not have happened had the ground been maintained.

Horrible cowardly Italians. Only attack innocent fans. The Brighton fan going to hospital after being stabbed then went to the match and was applauded by their fans. Good for him.

The same happened to our very own 'Allo' against Roma. He was stabbed before the match when they attacked our fans in the centre of Rome. He was taken to hospital and then discharged himself to go to the game. He became unwell at the game though.

A very sobering coincidence that sums up their horrible fans that get away with it each time.

Travelled to Italy in 1980 with England fans, and then the Boro v Roma, as much as I love Rome, and Italy in general, I wouldn't go back there if you paid me to attend a football match. Horrible fans, and police who turn a blind eye. As an earlier poster said, if this happened in England, the world would know about it.

Spoke to a Boro lad who was there, he said it was a preplanned attack and he thought the Italian police knew it was going to happen.
It was just families some sat with kids having a drink outside restaurants.
But what they didn’t realise, Allo was with a group of mates in bar a bit further up.
The Italian ultras attacked, the police disappeared, Allo and his mates came out to try and fend them off, a few of them got stabbed.
What he did say was 25 ultras against 5 Boro lads and the Boro lads didn’t budge an inch in the fighting, probably saved a lot of families from getting beaten up.

was there at the bar full of Boro outside enjoying themselves only one police car present. We even got our hands stamped getting ****ed tonight by bar staff they said it’s so you can still get served later. All off the sudden we got attacked by Roma fans who came from nowhere but they got fought off. Suddenly there was loads of police within a minute must have been waiting for it to happen. The police then turned on the Boro fans moving us all out the area.

I saw Allo in Guisborough a few weeks ago. A big lad. I’ve heard that story as well. The police are no better than the cowardly fans. Thugs.
