What's happening with Brentford at the moment, they are 3-1 down at home to Wolves and look like they could get dragged into a relegation battle and are only 4 points above the third bottom club.
Luton looking like they are putting up a fight as well. Relegation teams might not be as straight forward as it lookedWhat's happening with Brentford at the moment, they are 3-1 down at home to Wolves and look like they could get dragged into a relegation battle and are only 4 points above the third bottom club.
Or perhaps you over achieved for many years prior to that with reckless spending?Another unlikeable London club - I’ll hold my hands up and admit that it annoys me that there at least half a dozen clubs in the prem who are no bigger, or dare i say smaller than us, be it by fan base or historical sense - and we have had one paltry top flight season in the last 14. I don’t care what anyone says we have been punching below our weight for some time now
Both main strikersMissing their main striker and they were overachieving to begin with.
No - historically we have spent more years as a top flight club prior to dropping out in 2009 and we weren’t really big spenders, that is simply a myth arising from us being one of the first to really focus on overseas signingsOr perhaps you over achieved for many years prior to that with reckless spending?
A lot easier for London or southern based clubs to attract players than it is for teams of similar size in the North, and as BM alludes to, it costs us more money to attract them.Another unlikeable London club - I’ll hold my hands up and admit that it annoys me that there at least half a dozen clubs in the prem who are no bigger, or dare i say smaller than us, be it by fan base or historical sense - and we have had one paltry top flight season in the last 14. Was going to say Mbeumo too who is a brilliant player. Not sure why they resigned Maupey though! Both main strikers
That is true to a degree but those clubs in there are ran much better than Gibson has ran MFCA lot easier for London or southern based clubs to attract players than it is for teams of similar size in the North, and as BM alludes to, it costs us more money to attract them.
I disagree that they are run any better than us.That is true to a degree but those clubs in there are ran much better than Gibson has ran MFC
Like us they've had a bad run of injuries. The likes of Mbuemo who stepped up to the plate after Toney was banned are now out with long term injuries. What's happening with Brentford at the moment, they are 3-1 down at home to Wolves and look like they could get dragged into a relegation battle and are only 4 points above the third bottom club.
In my lifetime we have spent far more years outside the top division - in fact I was 16 before I enjoyed top flight football for the first time. Then we had 7 years in the top flight followed by 7 years out again. Became a yoyo club before another 9 years in the top flight. And only 1 in the last 14 as you pointed out. We have no divine right to be up there. No - historically we have spent more years as a top flight club prior to dropping out in 2009 and we weren’t really big spenders, that is simply a myth arising from us being one of the first to really focus on overseas signings
Don't mind Brentford, they're like the Boro of London.
I neither like or dislike them and think they are just another club making the numbers up in the Prem like we would be.I don’t like them since the GTech guy got involved.
Until 10 yrs ago they were more like the Carlisle of London.Don't mind Brentford, they're like the Boro of London.
I think he's bet on them to go down.Really struggling with injuries especially up front. I doubt they will sell Toney until the summer as they badly need his goals and all round play when he returns from his ban.
