Braithwaite could be on the move

Absolute joke that a player of that quality gets to go play for Barca. He’s F***ing *****

People said the exact same about stuani, and were thrilled when we sold him. We pulled their pants down apparently. Both have gone on to score goals internationally and against top teams. Braithwaite has maintained his goal scoring record through his career during the time with us, I suspect people just expected him to suddenly ramp up and bang 30 in because we paid a set fee for him.

I’ve always rated Stuani, he’s a great instinctive finisher, Braithwaite is poison. Must have the best agent in the world.

Stuani is quality. Braithwaite was ***** for us. Simple as that
TBH I thought Stuani was very mediocre for us and I was never a big fan of his, although it may not have all been his fault. The fact he's been great since he left doesn't change that for me though.

Braithwaite is a snake but at the same time, it still frustrates me that we didn't use him more effectively during his time here.

Monk and Pulis should have played him off either Britt or Bamford.

If we'd then played a style of football which suited his game I think he could have been a big player for us.

I don't know how anyone could think Stuani was anything other than a mediocre player until he left us. He was less than a 1 in 3 goalscorer until he joined Girona. He always looked an instinctive finisher, but nobody new how good he could be until he started scoring for Girona.

I genuinely always liked him I seen him as a natural one touch finisher who was played out of position. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend I knew he was gonna be as good as he has been since he left but I always did rate him and believe it was a fault of Karanka that he played him out of position. He would of scored a shed load for us if played as the main striker every game in the championship imo.

He's proved me totally wrong anyways. I didn't think for a second he was capable of scoring the amount he has. I admit my judgement was clouded a bit because it drove me insane him playing on the right instead of Traore.

I agree with that.

Karanka loved to play a striker in the raumdeuter role - he did the same with Bamford, who was decent playing in that role but much better when he had that run playing up front alongside Vossen.

Yes, I agree, AK not giving Stuani a real opportunity as the central striker was a big mistake. He was always the best finisher at the club. Mind whether he would have had the service due to the lack of creativity and pace is another matter. We could have saved a fortune had we kept him.

If he'd played the Premier League season up top on his own, would he have scored? He would have been left totally isolated with his back to goal.

Imagine if we had have kept Stuani and not spent £24m on Britt and Braithwaite following relegation.

We could have used that money to sign a quality winger and midfield playmaker and lined up like this.....

Randolph

Christie
Ayala
Gibson
Friend

Traore
?????
Clayton
??????

Stuani
Bamford

Maybe not, but if Karanka was a bit more brave with the likes of Traore and Gaston I’m behind him we may of created more opportunities. The option was there too play 4231 with Adama ,Gaston, Downing in behind a striker such as Negredo or Stuani. We would of scored a hell of a lot more with this approach.
