Bouncer in Middlesbrough

Probably sounds harsh but If the knife thing is true then I’ve no issue with what the bouncer did. Anyone waving a knife or any weapon around with threat deserves what’s coming and is fair game for me.
If someone with a knife lunges at you and you knock him head first into the concrete, that’s acceptable. If he’s face down on his hands and knees, you can’t pick him up to shoulder height and drop him on his head whether he deserves it or not. You pin him down and wait for the police.

Looks like the Empire's license is being reviewed (taken from Cleveland Police Facebook page)

How many serious incidents can they have before enough is enough? I'd love to see that theatre restored to its original use. I suspect following the recent redevelopment of the town hall that won't happen anyway.

always kids getting flung about by these lads. never see them getting into it with grown men
I remember one bank holiday years ago. The Stoney Oak in Billlingham (long gone boozer). The bouncers got involved in a scrap with a group who could fight. Didn’t end well for the bouncers!

I think it's too small to compete really, Boro already has the little theatre, Stockton has the arc, the globe, it's require spending on it to compete with other established venues and probably be open less nights with less capacity and less hours so wouldn't make as much.

As a venue for club nights and gigs it's great as it is, just needs to sort its door staff out big time.

This is the second time they have had their licence suspended because of problems with aggro and security.
All that money lost because of some roid head that they didnt even hire. Maybe he needs to sleep with one eye open.

It was only last year new and improved security measures where put in place also.
  • Greet the door supervisors: Get acquainted with the door supervisors and learn about their training, and responsibilities, and "witness their expertise first-hand."
Well this young lad sure did witness this first hand!!

New security measures

Venues don't really have a say unless they have a doorman they have an issue with and can mention it to the security company that they're with not to rota them on for that venue. Doorman in general are meant to work with the venue staffand vice versa, but alot of the time it's a them and us environment, which helps nobody.
