Boro's top 12 strikers.........................apparently

Slaven was a good player. Could score goals from anywhere in the box and sometimes outside it. But yeah, obviously not better than Viduka/JFH/Boksic/Rav.

I’m having Boksic over Viduka every time too, he was another level up. Genuine world class.

Came 4th in the Ballon D’Or, won titles and scored goals with multiple clubs in Serie A when it was seriously good, one European Cup and one runner’s up.

Viduka was a brilliant player but his career was Leeds, us, Newcastle. That’s not Juve and Lazio of the mid 90s.

What’s the equivalent of a Boksic now, maybe Benzema with pace who also scores goals from 35 yards? We only saw it in glimpses but he was unreal.

The main difference between Benzema and Boksic being that Benzema usually got into double figures for the season……😁

Yes he probably did. OK he didn't have the impact he should have but we shouldn't have played him as a winger. He clearly was a classy player, but didn't have the pace or fitness levels to play the way we wanted him to.
Loved Mendieta. Shameful the treatment he got from Southgate who has since apologised to him.

Yeah the idea that Slaven was better than Viduka is ludicrous and who knows how good a player Fenton or camsell where compared to today?
You will find out a little more about Camsell when Tosh Warwick's biography comes out later this year. He scored 18 goals in 9 England internationals remember. So that was playing at the highest level in his era.

Yes but would you pick a player at the top of the tree who simply did not have the motivation? Imagine what Brian Clough might have said.. and done to Boksic. He was a phenomenal player agreed but is that enough to qualify him?
The players that scored consistently game after game, season after season have to be applauded as greats for the club don't they?

Boksic is the most talented striker i've seen play for Boro since i started watching them in 1990. Viduka come's in 2nd and then JFH, Yakubu, Slaven and Ravanelli were all on a par in 3rd.

Viduka had the biggest impact. Boksic would only play when he was 100% fit which is why he didn't have the impact he could have had.

Mark Viduka - my goodness how good was he!

The only player who I've ever seen who had the ability to slow down time whilst he had the ball at his feet in the penalty area.

He's my number one striker by far, the rest are in his wake.
