Boro's most iconic goal in our 146 year history

Maccarones header for me and the only one I know to get it`s own poster

I'm talking historic, iconic, a moment in time, the scenario... it's the one that comes to mind more than any.

Like winning a bl00dy cup? (But i know what you mean)

People of different ages will have different memories

Our last day win at Wolves in 92 is up there for me

The 3-3 draw against Chesterfield is also up there (although that ultimately lead to disappointment)

You're listing results, not goals.

Our cup win against Bolton is undoubtedly the iconic result of our history, for me, but I don't think either goal is particularly memorable.

This one, and I was there!!! Skivved off from basic training at Catterick to get there.

Unbelievable, and into our first wembley final too

maccarone is up there but my goal to be remembered was the Boro v West Ham Third Round FA cup in a cold Jan in 1970 . Big time charlies West Ham came to the grim north with 1966 world cup winning trio of Moore, Hurst and Peters . Boro Battered them 2-1. Goal to be remembered was a diving header from derrick Downing following a break down the right which Big John put in a cross 2 yards from the ground and was met on the penalty spot by a horizontal Downing and powered the ball in the net . Never forget it 53 years ago . I was 13 at the time

Just on the 3 mins 53 seconds mark............

ICONIC.

This is etched into your memory isn’t it, the way he heads it, his celebration stood still clenching his fists.

Just bloody beautiful man. Look at the holgate. Brings a tear to the eye.

My first ever game.. no wonder i've been hooked ever since!

I can actually spot myself in my bright blue Ski jacket jumping around like a loon in the Holgate after Mowbrays goal!!

This one definitely gets my vote.. the black and white pic of him in full flight is equally iconic!

It should be Ravanelli's at Wembley, to this day it still devastates me we didn't win that day. Not sure I'll ever get over it.

Few come to mind for me -
Hendrie against Luton, last goal at Ayresome and ultimately put us up.
Festa aginast Chesterfield
Zenden penalty against Bolton

The first Second Division live match.
I set the VHS recorder, hoping to catch the whole game.
The tape got mangled and never recorded a minute of it!
Those were the days

It's just not right seeing him with that muck on his shirt these days is it....

Was next in line for a statue outside the Riverside for me. Mr Middlesbrough, Captain fantastic.

Then he went and took THAT job...

The one and only time I have been brought to tears watching us score a goal was the Cup Final. Job's goal.
I grabbed my brother and the poor young woman next to me and we all went mental. I'll never forget that experience and can easily get choked up thinking about it now.

Bloody hell... I had tears in my eyes when Riggott scored the third against Steaua.. never mind Maccarone's!
