Boropolis podcast Neil Warnock interview.

Might have time to listen to that later but I was never a fan of Warnock before his time at the club, warmed to him at first but quickly became disenchanted with him towards the end with his attempts to influence referees (which was obvious were having exactly the opposite result in that refs were actively deciding against us) his habit of throwing players to the wolves and his "my way or the highway" attitude to playing the game. He did the job he was paid to do and was discarded perhaps rather unkindly. I'm over it.

For me now, he is in the same category as Strachan - just another guy who used to manage us. The managers for whom I will always look on fondly (from my time) are Anderson, Charlton, Lawrence, Rioch, Robson, McClaren and Karanka.

Just watched it. It was refreshing to hear him admit how bitter he was following his sacking and not wanting us to do well under Wilder, just goes to show all those years and the experience he has it doesn't get in the way of bitterness.
I never find public bitterness refreshing. He was paid well.

He was Lee Marvin in the Dirty Dozen. Got the job done and kept us in this division, and got us so we started looking up the table rather than down, but I can't think of a single moment of note from his full season with us. We went out of all cup competitions without too much of a fight under Warnock too.

He lost the plot after that Dael Fry incident vs Blackburn, and we went right off the boil which lasted until he left.

There's definitely some needle with Wilder, but maybe that's because they are very similar people?

You can tell he's full of absolute crap when he says "if you put me in charge again today I'd have Dijksteel, Fry and McNair as the back 3 and they'd be as good as anyone in the league" as though he made those players and discovered that back 3. How many times do you reckon he played them as a back 3 since it's so obvious how good they are?

Dijksteel was going to be bombed out of the club before NW came.

No, he wasn't?

He had a long term injury, he'd been out with a knee injury since November 2019 and only got back to fitness after Warnock had taken over in June 2020.

You may be thinking of Bola.

I genuinely don't know whether posters are trolling on here regarding Warnock or not? Is it because he was a bit right wing, told you what you want to hear and had a bit of the 'old guard' in him?

All you've done is trolled with your last 2 mouth breathing posts. Are you Kieron Scott?

I thought he was genuinely good. Didn't agree with his politics, didn't want him here at all when he was first mentioned tbh.

One of our very few proper good managers. File one below Tony Mowbray.
