BORO v MILLWALL : MATCH THREAD

The main thing today was the performance, it was light years away from our last couple of games. It stops the rot and 3 points into the bargain.

It's a tight division and there will be some twists and turns yet.

I wouldn’t say that as I think there’s a few more twists and turns to come yet

Swansea could easily slip out as well.

Looking at that table, it strikes me that there are five or six (or even seven or eight) clubs, of which we are one, fighting for one play off place - I'm guessing the current top six, minus Reading, will be there at the end of the season
I will give 20 quid to a charity of your choosing if the top6 include the 5 clubs, Bournmouth, Swansea, Norwich, Brentford and Watford at the end of the season.

On the subject of Akpom, I remember Heskey getting pelters from fans, but the players around him loved playing with him. Not agreeing or disagreeing, but sometimes players bring something quite subtle to the field that isn't obvious from the stands. I dunno, donkey work, little obstructions, drawing players in then releasing the ball.

But did he play a part in the goals??? I think it is a bit hopefully to lay our winning performances at his door.
A forward makes a run off the ball, takes defender with him, space opens up for other forward to run into and midfielder picks the pass : goal! First forward played major part in the goal but won’t get his name in lights for scoring or assisting, but without the run there’s no goal.

Go on then - I'll play - I'll give £20 to a charity of your choosing if those 5 aren't in the top 6 at the end - bit of interest for the season !
