Andrew 'Nesbit' Wilson was a prolific goalscorer, who started his career at the Boro, his early career was interrupted by the WW1 were his left hand & forearm were shattered by enemy fire at Arras. He wore a glove to mask the withered hand & forearm for the rest of his life
After the war he moved back to Scotland, where he played for Hamilton, Hearts & Dunfermlinewhen the league was absorbed in 1921 he moved back to the Boro as we still held his registration, both of his debuts 1914 & return 'debut' 1921 were away to WBA, he scored 56 goals in 86 appearences over 2 spells
In December 1923 he signed for Chelsea, both Boro & Chelsea were in the 1st division, his final goal was at home to Chelsea in a 2-0 win, his final Boro game was a week later a away to Chelsea
At the end of the season, both Boro & Chelsea were relegated, Boro for the 1st time
