Boro, please 'take the knee' next season

I think if the players decide not to take to knee, we need the reasons why, as britt explained perviously. I think now that we’re a couple years down the line I’d like us to make public what we are doing to help with racism
Ah yes, our great captain..

It’s about communicating about what the club thinks about racism, and the game still has a problem with it
Can’t they say that through social media, websites, signage - even a badge on the shirt? Why does the club need to ask the players to signal THEIR solidarity with anti racism? I personally take that for granted.

It is, of course, down to the players.

However, last night's events forced home the relevance of the gesture, and should prompt a reconsideration of it on our teams part.

Given that, once crowds started growing after Christmas, the were quite a few racist boos from the South Stand, I'd say our club in particular needs it.
It’s a lot to put onto players.. I think there should be a clear message from the club and from fan groups also (groups/forums/podcasts etc)

The England players chose to continue to do it after getting booed. Booing it is a racist act. I would prefer Boro to do it, but would not condemn them if they don't

I hope those in the Boro end who choose to boo opposition players doing it continue to be drowned out by applause. It won't stop them being racist, but will show the players taking the knee that most fans are not

It should always be a personal choice. Players should be able to make the gesture or not without being judged, or being compelled to explain why.
Those making the gesture, which is peaceful, should be shown respect and certainly not booed.
Those voicing their disapproval can not complain if their disrespect is challenged - as it will be - by many others who are present.
Those approving of the gesture should voice that opinion.

Why should Steve Gibson compel to, or forbid his staff from making or avoiding peaceful gestures?
It is the actions of individuals that will indicate whether things are really changing for the better.

Who is asking that the players be instructed to take the knee by the way? Nobody I don’t think. We all agree that it is a personal gesture of solidarity and not done because they are told to.

I was merely covering all ends of a spectrum of perspectives. Thought you may have got that.

I said (or meant) the club need to let the fan base what it doing in relation to racism

Do they still do it in f1 or have the tv coverage just chosen to not show it anymore?

Got to the point where more drivers didnt do it than those that did

No. They have given up on the "race as one" stuff. Probably because the big wigs of the FIA don't actually believe the message
