Boro player of the Year (so far)

Im a huge McGree fan, our best out and out footballer for me. The keeper has done just fine.

Hackney though by a mile is our player of the season and will be at the end of it as well.

We will do well to keep him as i think there will be some big numbers on the table

I thought Dieng was just ok to begin with, but certainly recently has been v good.

I'd say Hackney and then McGree

I loved Platt, Pears and Schwarzer if it helps and grew to like Crossley, Dimi and Randolph…… The total disdain list is a lot longer though, granted.
I agree with these, but have to add Willie Whigham, and Shay Given only played for us for half a season but he was superb at sorting our defence out.

Hackney and mcgree have both had poor games in those first winless 7, we can’t gloss over those, as such only the goalie has been consistently good throughout.

I think Hackney took a while to get going this season, as with most of course, but he is back in form and getting better and better. I’d go for Dieng as he has been consistent throughout.

Dieng. I was really worried how'd we replace Steffen. It wasn't so much as as an 'actual' GK More is ability with the ball at his feet.

You simply can't go out and find a ball playing GK. Especially at our level.

So hats off for signing Dieng👏. He's actually a slight upgrade on Steffen. I don't feel as nervous that he's going to make an error. Also far better in the air coming for balls into the box.

The fact he's ours helps. I imagine at a considerable less outlay in wages/fees than Steffen.

Also Hackney and Mcgree. Although still not remotely sure why Mcgree was overlooked so much. He's our game changer. I think on his day as good as many in the champo.

Dieng has been stand out for me.

I was disappointed to lose Steffen and was pretty concerned about the keeping situation. I don’t think I can pay any bigger compliment than to say I’ve almost forgotten about Steffen.

He’s been excellent. Steffen started last season slowly. Dieng has been on it from day one. On current trajectories he’ll be regarded as one of our best ever keepers.

McGree, Hackney and Jones would be a close run for second.

Hackney had a very slow start (as did the whole team) but he looks back to his best. Jones also looks back to his best.

McGree is just top class. Naturally fans were frustrated to see him benched early doors, but he’s been excellent in recent weeks. Hope he’s fit for tomorrow.

When you look at our squad we have some young talented players that could drive the club forward in the seasons to come, either with financial sales or playing time.
Future looks bright, Future looks Boro...
C'mon Boro
