Boro confident Payero will get work permit

Rashford had some personal issues last season when he split up with a long term girlfriend. Coincidence or not but he had a dip in form and hasn’t looked the same player- plus he has a shoulder problem needing surgery. He’ll be back as class is permanent.
wasn't aware of his gf problem. In lockdown as well it's probably a huge change in his life and his mental health has probably taken a dip.

The shoulder issue, every contact, every fall, even sprinting could be impacted.

My only worry is it's a lot of hype being built around a lad none of us had heard of beforehand.

Really hope he proves to be a stunning bit of business.

I’m not expecting him to be unreal, it will take him time to settle. I think the excitement is rather the unknown and that we are looking further afield for talent rather than just sign a load of players Warnock has worked with before and cheap Freebies. I’m gonna give him time he needs to settle but I think it could be a decent bit of business by the club

For me the excitement is that we are thinking outside the box and showing a little ambition. He's a sought after player regardless if he turns out a star or dud. The fact we appear to have got him is a sign of ambition even if it fails.
I think it's a 'toe in the water' job with regards Leo and his contacts in South America...if it works out we may see a few more ✔️

What excites me is the combination of the fact he seems physically quite suited which was never the case with either of the Carlos' flops. That and most successful dribbles per game in Argentina from centre midfield. The most knowledgeable scout I know from online footy circles seemed genuinely surprised to the point of confusion that he would be joining Boro.

He said "Very fun player to watch. Technical, creative, good dribbler. You don't see many midfielders like him in Europe." It's also been said he'll try and take the game to the opposition and likes to go past players and wind them up.

I think with where we're at signing an Argentine youth International linked with some decent clubs that at one point had a $15m release clause rumoured, we're allowed a wee bit of excitement.

Interested to see how he'll fit in and I really hope we give him time and buy some forwards/wide players to get the best out of him.

At times we could have had a peak Riquelme in our side and made him look poor with a lack of movement and quality in the front 3 positions.
