Boro confident Payero will get work permit

NW said he would need to take a very big pay cut from his previous contract to come to Boro.

I would guess from £70k/week to £20k/week.

It appears Britt has his old Boro contract continued in Turkey (£35 to £40k/week) so I would guess Bolasie could pick up around £30k/week with a lower top flight club there.

To some extent its how much money matters to a player.

I know football is big in Turkey, but it always surprises me how they can pay so much in a country where incomes must be a third of what they are here.

edit - Just checked average wage in Turkey is £657/month - UK will be around £2,300 gross.

Sterling had a stinker in the final, alongside Mount, as I feared he would.
He didn't have a "stinker", it's not like he missed easy chances or gave possession away constantly. He was quiet and well marshalled. He was in the UEFA team of tournament and you thought he shouldn't even be in our squad, I think that's his point and probably a well made one :D

I wouldn't have chosen him pre tournament and posted so, gave him real credit for his performances against Croatia, Czech, Germany and Ukraine straight after the matches, but maintain reservations about him versus other players, that were evidenced against Scotland, Denmark and especially Italy.
I think we have players who would have got more out of our best player Harry Kane.

Fair post @indeedido, just out of curiosity who would your forward line have been? Pre tournament I would have wanted

Grealish
Kane
Sancho

But to be fair to sterling he exceeded all expectations and his place was his own.

Grealish and Foden would have been in my team before the tournament and would be in the qualifiers coming up.
I like Mount (but not in a front 3 like in the final), Sancho and Rashford. I also think Sako is a very good player.
The one I would now be looking to introduce as quickly as possible is Bellingham as one of the two CM's, (but I was knocked out by Rice in the final).
Others will emerge, but we have some very good players coming.

I personally don't think Marcus rashford is good enough, I absolutely love the bloke for what he's done for the kids of this country but I think he's in danger of following in Danny welbecks footsteps (preparing myself to be slaughtered)

I think we have to temper criticism of his second half of season and euro performance with his injury issue. He's been carrying it for sometime and the fact he was booked in for an op pretty much immediately after the final tells us a lot. Last season he got 22 goals in 44 games and was excellent. Hopefully this op will clear the problem up and we can start to see the player we saw 12-18 months ago

Well Sancho is signing and they want Kane too, could be a potential England front 3. Sir Gareth would be very keen if it all happens and they were to click in the PL

Rashford had some personal issues last season when he split up with a long term girlfriend. Coincidence or not but he had a dip in form and hasn’t looked the same player- plus he has a shoulder problem needing surgery. He’ll be back as class is permanent.
