Can't say I know much about him but his stats don't make for impressive reading, 2 goals in 3 seasons in the Championship.
I'm assuming he's more of a playmaker but hope he isn't another nothing midfielder.

He is not a playmaker he is a defensive midfielder in the Clayton mould therefore won’t score many goals. Tough tackler but does get the odd card inc red. Inc this beauty against Liverpool playing for Everton reserves.

Fair enough, we do need that type of player bringing in now Clayton has gone, although I think it could be worth giving Djiksteel a couple of games playing in that role in the pre-season games.

You have to be able to control a football in that position and use both feet well so I suggest Djiksteel may not be a roaring success

I think you could be right about Djiksteel and I think Warnock might give it a go too. In his after match interview V Sheff Wed when talking about Djiksteel he said something like 'he can play in midfield, he can play anywhere for me'. He obviously likes a big man in that role, he gave Moukoudi a go in there one game so I think he could experiment in preseason.

I watched a compliation video of him yesterday and to me he looks like has the attributes to play in that role. He's a strong lad and without getting carried away, watching this video it reminded me of Patrick Vieira.
I think both him and Marcus Browne will offer us more if we try them in more central positions.

I'm not certain he'd succeed in that position but I agree he has a lot of the right attributes so it is worth a try for a few games. Could save us a bit of dough as midfielders on the whole seem to be more expensive than defenders at this level.

Trouble with highlight reels is they made carlos marinelli and carlos de pena look good.

We have had goal scoring CMs in the past... Well before they joined us.
Clayton (described as box to box and a decent shot) / Howson always got 5-6 at other clubs. Saville managed 10 at Millwall and the biggest one was Nicky Bailey. He was a goal machine at Charlton. We turned him into a CM who wouldn't cross the half way line
We have been a bit of a goal scoring graveyard for CMs and Forwards.
We need at least one or two CMs/Wide players to chip in with 5-6.

I see what you mean, he looks a bit ungainly during close control but it seems to do the trick.

Warnock played Howson in DM for a few of the games, based on his performances i'd be more than happy keeping him there and looking at strengthening other areas.
Saville can also do a good job there, then Djiksteel / Liddle worst case scenario. So I don't think DM is a priority position at all.

It hardly seems a priority position. Warnock did say we are stocked with CMs. That said if he's an improvement then you'd clearly go for him.
I just think that if we really have 2.5mil to spend then it could be better spent in other areas (forward as they ain't cheap). Then again Warnock knows more than me

It seems pretty obvious that NW wants a holding midfrilder, given the names we've been linked too.
If we so bring him in od be very surprised if we paid £2.5m though.

To me Howson's legs have gone, blowing out of his axxx after 20 mins.
Only position I see him being a success is 3rd center back, where to be fair he does perform well.

Precisely why I don't understand so many keen to sell McNair. I get that we might need to for financial reasons and if so fair enough. But other than Wing (who can't do much else), he's the only CM with a real goal threat.
