I don't ever recall a footballer suffering a brain injury as a result of an onfield incident. Refs should not stop play when somone goes down holding their head because it's a an easy way to clear pressure on your goal. Or a cheating opportunity if you like.
This a joke? You know what a concussion is right?
There's been numerous skull fractures and just in the world cup the Iranian keeper was clearly existing in another world for 5 minutes after being clattered by his own player.
Besides, it not just a head injury that can cause the ref to stop play. A referee can stop play if they deem a player is in need of attention or in a hazardous position which may cause further injury, such as in the middle of the penalty area.
As I pointed out earlier, Hackney landed heavily and was clearly injured, Barlaser took what looked like an elbow to the head and required a concussion protocol test.
After the Hackney restart, the ref dropped the ball at the feet of the QPR player who had the opportunity to cross first time but never, they can't complain.
They also can't complain when Martin took out Steffen to prevent a counter attack.
