At half time both games were 0-0 which meant we would be relegated if nothing changed.

We were below Bournemouth before kick off.

We had a decent side that season which was expected to be top 6.

funny how you forget things with time I could of swore we were leading at half time but still remember it as a fantastic day out and game

Amazing how close we came to being back were we had started in 86, a real roller coaster time, play offs the year after and then promoted two years later. Great times to be a Boro fan. I think every season from 1985 to 1992 our fate was decided on the last day of the season or the week of the last season (Wigan 87).
