Any know what time the goals were scored at? Just had a quick google, to no avail
Slaven - 60If anyone knows @Erimus74 will know.
Definitely an 'oh no' moment. Or words to that effect.Trembly knees at 70 minutes
Thought I might be able to work out the times by looking at the North Stand clock in the footage .............. oh, wait .......Doesn't help with goal times but always worth a watch.
....... who in turn lost to Swindon but then still got promoted 'cos Swindon were punished for some indiscretion or other. Which of course further enraged the Geordies.11v11 doesn't show times. Statto.com says page error
Shows how low we were sinking how important was that game for both teams and yet
Crowd 18484!!!
And then they lost to Sunderland in the playoffs
Don't know, which is disappointing considering I spent half a life time looking at the bloody thing from the South Terrace. The score board which was either side of the clock (Home/Away IIRC) never worked either, think it blew up when we beat Sheff Wed 8-0. I remember when the half-time scores were displayed under letters (needed a programme to work 'em out). Originally I think someone hung out numbers for the half-times and they were along the front of the North Stand then eventually they were 'electronic' boards at either end of the stand (which eventually packed up as well). When I think back to 'technology' at Ayresome I wonder how the hell we built Colossus at Bletchley Park and cracked Enigma. There's a question!
What time was the clock stuck on when we
Lost the key?
Couldn't afford the electricity?
I remember the fanfare for the electronic scoreboard. I think they said " Its the first in the country ". You still needed to have a programme to decipher their codeDon't know, which is disappointing considering I spent half a life time looking at the bloody thing from the South Terrace. I'd forgotten about that. When Swindon were denied promotion (illegal payments?), Newcastle were claiming as they finished 3rd they should be promoted. I seem to recall the media considered it favourably as the playoffs were still new-ish then........ who in turn lost to Swindon but then still got promoted 'cos Swindon were punished for some indiscretion or other. The programme aspect was a bit of a stumbling block for me, spent most of half time trying to peer over the bloke in front's shoulder. Might have been Erimus for all I know.I remember the fanfare for the electronic scoreboard. I think they said " Its the first in the country ". why could we not get a giant electronic Casio closk?
The game was on a beam back to St James' Park & Tyne Tyne TV had cameras there to film the promotion celebrations. Instead it just caught them all leaving early.Doesn't help with goal times but always worth a watch.
