marxism is being used as the boogeyman, and most people don't want to know what the boogeyman looks like, they just want to keep him away. It's pantomime politics.

For me Marx's analysis of capitalism is accurate, it's a means of exploitation of the poorer by the rich. Company owners make profit by paying staff less than their effort. If your effort earns £300/day for the company that employs you, you will be lucky to get £130 of it. Now of course the 170 the company keeps has to pay for marketing, advertising, back office etc. but the residual profit goes to the share holders (except in a co-op). The more effort you put in, as an employee, the less value for your effort and the more exploited you will be. That's just plain economics and the basis of capitalism.

Capitalism is an extremist ideology. Now I don't agree with the extremity of most of marx's ideas to stop this exploitation either, they don't work.

Balanced approaches with some socialist non-exploitative industries to ensure the basics of life are cheap and not exploited are a good thing, water, electricity, transport for starters. If you put lower water bills, better cheaper nationalised trains in front of your average Brit they will say it's a good thing, if you label it as marxism they will say it's bad. Thus it's a boogeyman tag. Capitalism with strong anti-competitive, data protection, environmental protection, and consumer rights laws should be used to ensure that billionaires don't just do what they want, and screw the consequences. I mean just last week on here we were talking about exploitative Southern Water, a private company that offer poor service, have a monopoly, and continually break environmental laws with absolutely no care for the fines. That's the result of capitalism and wouldn't be allowed to happen under public ownership.

For the rest of industry, put controls in place to stop the excesses and abuse of capitalism and make company owners more culpable for their failures both financially and in terms of jail. Too many dodgy business owners shut businesses down, give all assets to wife, then start another dodgy business again, or ride roughshod over consumer right, employee rights, and standards

Strange, isn't it? Because when I attempted to register my initial try was rejected because there had been an influx of trolls and my username was quite understandably seen as 'suspicious' but then I emailed Rob and he sorted it out pretty much immediately and I was posting on here within an hour or two after that. And nobody has ever slowed my account down. Borolad gave me a bit of a telling off for going too far the other day but I've had no problems at all with the new site.
 
I have a very good friend - who was born and grew up in Soviet times - it really isn't any good. It really isn't,and the people knew it. Many worked the least they could, hard work gained you nothing, hence people would just steal whatever wasn't nailed down. There might be some extremely watered down Socialism here and there ( nordically speaking ) that don't actually involve tyranny - but are they even Socialist anymore?
I would agree that there are areas that should be wrested from Private hands - in fact I would go further by investing money in industries that have long passed such as steel,shipbuilding,large engineering - even coal. For reasons of National Security if nothing else to retain the ability to defend ourselves.

BLM was founded by "trained Marxists" well versed apparently- luckily, having landed perchance on the 3 word slogan ( all the best have them - Education,Edukation,Edschuchun - Death before Dishonour - No ***** Sherlock - Get Brexit Done - Lets get naked ) - I guess they are happy with their largesse for now.
For many people, BLM and knee taking have become intrinsically linked - having BLM on shirts makes this clear.

What are you suggesting? I waited 5 months and emailed rob direct. I then gave links to my facebook account to prove i am who i said i was. My account ws slowed because someone was too paranoid for own good and admin said it was just for checking

why pick on me… F***ing bullies

I'm not suggesting anything. Just stating what happened when I signed up for this place and wondering why some people claim to have had a completely different experience. It took Rob all of an hour or two to get back to me and activate my account after that initial hiccup.
