Boris Johnson - next PM?

Not sure they can engineer it without the Johnson lobby calling foul - more infighting, squabbles, resignations probably. They wanted a unity candidate and with Johnson they are going to get the polar opposite. Johnson has been the architect of all the ills that have befallen the Party recently. It was he who ushered in the totally useless Truss, it was he who fell out with half the party and it was he that the cabinet collapsed over very rapidly just 3 months ago. Cummins will be rubbing his hands again in delight as he becomes relevant again.

I’m sure there will be cries of ‘foul’ and ‘stitch up’ especially when Mordaunt then drops out to crown Sunak unopposed, but that is what they will have to do. I don’t think they will care. It’s not like Conservatives are shy of these sort of cynical tactics behind the scenes, they are second nature. And they are quite ruthless too.

And meanwhile, the country continues to slide further into the sh*t.

Sack off the critical issues facing the UK - the economy / NHS / energy crisis / international standing. Just crack on with self preservation and f*ck the electorate.

In some ways be good if he got it. Then the Privileges enquiry decides he mislead the house.
He would be suspended, with a possible recall, and by-election in Uxbridge.
Then there would have to be a GE
All sounds so easy. But just wishful thinking probably.
Still some of the serious journalists and observers think he won’t even stand.

The Johnsonists intend to get the enquiry aborted.

The removal of Johnson was the the sensible thing to do, the insanity was replacing him with Truss.

It's like Play Your Cards Right and having a Queen going lower and they pull out a King.
American; stop revealing how you used to spend your Friday nights you party animal you! For the record though….dolly’s….do your dealing !

If they try surely there'll be a huge reaction against it - would pretty much be a cover up! Our politics really is in the gutter.
If Johnson wins then he will have no choice but to try to get the enquiry binned. Do you think he will care one jot about any reaction? He is a complete degenerate and will burn the country to the ground if it will benefit him.

Quite a lot will resign the whip if this happens. When the markets react many more will too, which means Johnson can’t command a majority in the House and govern.

I suspect the King will enjoy his chat with the man who lied to his mum and partied on the eve of his dads funeral.

‘Dear oh dear’

Offer him a knighthood and then behead him?

I doubt many would mind.

If the royals rode around on horses with a phalanx of cavalry, distributing brutal justice by their sword to those who have let the country down, I could see myself backing that and possibly even becoming a royalist......

It would be all or nothing this time though. Absolutely nothing to lose so 'normal' rules won't apply. The Mail and Express will openly call MPs on the committee enemies of the people and smear and attack them in a way not seen before. All they need is one iota of doubt sowed in one member of the committee and the enquiry will be history.

You're right, single-handedly got Brexit done, invented and rolled out the vaccine, beat the Russian's in Ukraine, stopped Liz Truss from dribbling down her blouse, if he'd been manager we would have won the Euros, invented applauding the NHS, although I was applauding Boris, backed Sir Captain Tom, supported the Queen when she lost her hubby, zero immigration, zero unemployment, zero crime, got all the big calls right and whilst he was doing that he still had time to get his hairdresser pregnant and organise some parties, proper boyo is Boris, that Sunak only stabbed him in the back coz he didn't get any icing on his slice of cake.
Unfortunately there will be a few million cap doffers around the country who genuinely think that to be true.

One would hope that Sir Graham Brady will nip this madness in the bud and have a quiet word with Johnson and tell him that under no circumstances should he stand.

Johnson was the PM that split the Party and is under investigation which could see him lose his seat in the house, whilst that is ongoing there is absolutely no sanity, never mind morality, in allowing Johnson to stand.

EDIT: The vote on Wednesday night was a confidence vote, Johnson did not vote, it is still possible to remove the Whip from Johnson and that would stop him from running. Fait accompli.

The polls seem to be getting worse for them. They’re being driven now by fear.
There’s a Tory majority on the privileges committee, but if the evidence is as strong as claimed and he’s found not guilty by that majority it will cause an enormous s***t storm.

That would be a hell of a parting shot from Truss :D .

Unfortunately not realistic is it?
