Boris Johnson is in intensive care

Agree with that fluffy carpet. Hope he pulls through and it makes people sit up and take notice. Particularly the minority of arrogant idiots who think they're a special case.

it's significant because it's the PM. However there are many more in the same position as him. Some of them front line NHS staff who have caught it putting their lives at risk to help others. I hope everyone suffering from this horrible virus pulls through. Sadly we know they wont.

Like most, I’m not his biggest fan politically wise, but he is giving his best for us all, and he actually comes across as decent guy, so by the grace of god, I hope he gets better soon. Cmon Boris lad 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Show the humanity that hasn't been afforded the poorer in society in the last decade or so, both in government and across society.

Compassion shouldn't be reserved for times like this.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment behind this reply I would question the timing and/or location. Perhaps better to discuss this at a later time? Or in a separate thread?

Quite an interesting thread this.
There are those wishing him well, there are one or two saying something like - he’s got what he deserved and not wanting to feel sympathy for him.
It’s a choice thing.
Usually, on here people are pretty good at respecting people’s choices.

I would very much doubt it.
Did you ever read ‘The boy who cried wolf’ when you were a child.

That’s the problem with habitual liars - you don’t know when they are telling the truth.
1Finny makes a valid point, just because Johnson was telling the truth on this, doesn't somehow mitigate the crap he has talked over the years.

Do you still think he's making it up that he has the virus 1finny?
When it was first announced I though that might be the case. Given that he has Cummings as an adviser.

Up until he went into hospital I believed it could have been a con. To get people to take this outbreak more seriously.

That is the amount I distrust him due to his constant telling of untruths.

On this occasion, for the first time ever, I wish he had been lying.

As I have said already elsewhere. I would not wish this illness or death on anyone.

There are some other things I could say on this matter. Just not at this time on this thread.

John67 I share your views on his politics, but also on personal level wish him a speedy recovery. Unfortunately when you look at the rest of the cabinet they look poorly equipped to deal with the crisis whilst Johnson is (hopefully temporarily) away. At least Johnson has the backing of a majority vote behind him and some charisma to act as a figurehead.

To be fair Spanishman, BoroBosco opened the door there. Apologies to you if you found it offensive though. It wasn't meant to be.
I did not. Others will. I have started a separate thread for this type of discussion. Those that want to can avoid looking at my thread. For the good of their blood pressure.

I suggest we keep the neutral and "negative" comments away from here. For the good of everyone at this difficult time.

I was asked a question SM and answered it.
We are all adults and we should be able to handle each other’s opinions without abuse.
We have choices to make - We accept each other’s opinions, we take the ‘abuse route or we go off grid.

I’m up for the former and if I get tetchy I will do the latter.

No problem. Each to their own. Just like something else at the moment. It is a suggestion rather than something that is being enforced strongly.

It’s a really difficult one, to many,Johnson is the figurehead of a party that has ideologically caused them harm and distress over the past decade.

Some are understandably bitter and their reasons are completely valid.

Some will point at Boris, say that his decision making led to the spread of the virus and he is reaping what he has sown. Some will point to deaths with their family that could have been avoided or point out some of the not to clever actions and statements he has made.

I’m in the camp that he and his family deserve sympathy but he is certainly more complicit in his condition than many more people who have paid the price with their life.

Hope he recovers and that if he continues to lead the country, learns from this, takes his position a bit more seriously and has a bit more empathy for those who are not as fortunate as him and his class.

Dream on. Once a scheming, unprinciped lying degenerate always etc.

If he was capable of empathy he wouldn't be the shameful excuse of a man that he is.
