Boris and his 2020 Christmas Parties in lockdown...

GMB that great bastion of political challenge. Susannah Reid and Judge Rinder. The rest of MSM will hardly mention it.

It was obvious to anyone with an ounce of common sense that the likes of government ministers, sports personalities, celebrities, the so called upper class wouldn't take notice of any 'restrictions' because they don't apply to those people with big bank accounts.

Some of the online comments surrounding this story are surprising, even die hard Tories have turned.

Why is this coming out now? Seems like those with even more power are seeking to end this

When challenged by Starmer in PMQs just now he didnt deny holding a party on the 20th. Another barefaced lie then ensued with a bluster about "they followed the rules". They certainly didn't follow the rule in place at the time that no parties should be thrown.

Such lies now seem to be so much the norm that many people don't seem to care.

He then carried on lying about the building of 40 new hospitals.

Nothing ever happens whatever the scandal whatever the lie, they're just laughing at us
Remember Dominic Cummings and his 250 mile drive with his family?
Then driving with his family on board to test if he could see well enough to drive?
Then all the fallout about the home he was staying in built without planning permission?

Nothing happened then and I doubt that anything will happen now.

Have tou noticed the stock standard government dictat now to any question that catches them out is

"We were following the rules!"

Just watch them roll it our for nearly every challenge.

"Owen Paterson You were paid fortunes by a healthcare company that won NHS contracts!"

"I was following the rules"

Mr Robert Jenrick. You unilaterally allowed an appeal against a decision not to give a Tory donor permission to build a development in East London against council planners advice?!

"I was following the rules"

"Boris Johnson. You threw a crowded Xmas party in 10 Downing Street on Dec 20 last year despite telling the general public that no such parties were allowed!"

But we were following the rules.

An absolute disgrace of a Government who are laughing in the face of those who were duped into voting for them, thinking they would represent their best interests and also in the face of the majority of people who saw the good sense not to.

Never seen such an Apathetic electorate as we have now. Most people look through a very selfish self interest lens and if they are alright they really don’t give a damn about anyone else
I can see that in the comments of some of my family over here with their obsessive dislike of Jacinda. All they think about is themselves not the general good of the health of the country. They don't care - they just want to go on holiday to Bali and Australia.

its hard not to become apathetic when you knew exactly what this guy was going to be like as prime minister but yet he got ahuge majority.

Particularly when the leader of the opposition told just as many lies to secure himself as leader of the party and seems hell bent on becoming tory light again.

I'm apathetic and I historically have been extremely politically engaged, so people less interested in politics or those who have little time for much else than paying their bills and getting food on the table are inevitably just going to be looking out for themselves - I honestly can't blame them.

Sorry - you can't blame them voting Conservative? I can

The level of voter apathy will only be truly tested at the next election - but rest assured, Boris will be long gone before then - the Conservative Party will display its' single most dominant trait well before that.

Party first, always.
