Caught unexpectedly last night. Now I do realise it's revisionist stuff for a feel good film, but they did seem to miss out that bit where they'd just finished a world tour that included 12 nights at Sun City, before they did Live Aid "for Africa"! Must have overlooked it I guess!

I think it's widely acknowledged that the film has issues with the sequence of events.

Still a good watch though 👍

Weren't the remaining members of Queen acting as producers? If so, it was always going to be a sanitised version of events.

If you are interested have a look at the Live Aid sequence showing the film and the actual footage in split screen (its on You Tube) the synchronisation is incredible.

Sadly the rest of the film is not so good the sequence of events is all over the place. Though I'm no fan of Elton John, the film Rocketman is a better watch.

It annoyed me that Freddie was portrayed in the film as being a diva and egomaniac, and even more so when you remember that Brian May and Roger Taylor worked as producers for the film. They should have objected to it and pointed out that Freddie wasn't really like that.

The film implies that Freddie thought he was bigger and more important than the band, then had to go crawling back to the other band members after his solo career had failed, and begged them to allow him to rejoin the band.

The reality is, Roger Taylor was the first Queen member to embark on a solo career, and eventually it was something which the other members (aside from Deacon) pursued.

the movie is about Mercury the others are bit players ... May and Taylor did other stuff but is not included , they went for the Mercury angle as it is much more watchable..... I thought the movie very very good from a music loving guy perspective , yes the sequencing was suspect but as May and Taylor oversaw it they must be happy with the artistic licence .... the part in the recording studio is my fav bit and the live aid ending is brilliant
