Wow was watching the Beckham documentary last night and he got mentioned quite a bit as he was Beckhams dads hero.

I thought the same, but then heard them announce it at the Riverside and the the tribute of the crowds applause and singing “one Bobby Charlton” lovely touch. Guessing they’ve Co-ordinated it to announce it at the beginning of the second half up and down the country. RIP Sir Bobby

When I was younger I would have a dream that I was playing football for England and had gone down the left wing, when I was just outside the 18-yard box I would try and pass it to Charlton who was running in to rifle it home and the ball would stick to my foot. I would wake up kicking like hell trying to get the ball to leave my foot.

Sad day, big part of the my childhood and those around my age. Had the the luck to see him play against the Boro 3 times and also manage against us.
I remember being broken hearted when we were beaten v West Germany in 1970

Best goal he scored- for me v Benfica European Cup Final. Any lad who played up front will say this is a very very difficult skill.

Sad night for old football fans Ashington Manchester and England. Good night Bobby.
