Blair took a bung to end fox hunting

Regarding the world of pressure groups, political think tanks and outriders, I'd highly recommend reading Owen Jones' "The Establishment... And How To Get Rid Of Them".

Just focusing on fox hunting, what sick mind derives pleasure from it?
Foxes can be a problem in certain conditions. As can otters when you have a fish pond, Ive found to my recent distress.
But the prospect of parading around in fancy dress, on horseback, following a pack of demented hounds chase a terrified fox, shrieks sad sick psycho to me.

This is the problem with the way political parties are funded. It was a donation, not a bung, but people donate so they have influence. It is for the birds to this that a diner shelling out half a mill to a party wouldn’t have some kind of influence.

Parties should be somehow funded directly from the state, but that would open up a whole new can of worms. But at least it may take some of the influence of wealthy people away.
Exactly this. Do those calling this disgraceful also call all donations to political parties a bung? Where do we stop….trades union funding?

You townies don't understaaand cuntry waaaays.
It amuses me that the Cuntryside Alliance HQ is in a heavily-populated area of South London near me where it's almost impossible to go out in the evening and not see a fox. I like to think of them sticking a little paw up every time they skip past.

Saw foxes all the time in my That London days. Always kept a flask and a stirrup cup handy.

If it was kids in hoodies riding mountain bikes round urban areas ripping foxes apart with packs of XL bullies for fun, Parliament would be tripping over themselves they'd be in such a hurry to ban it.

As I said it’s about power their right to act how they want regardless of it’s impact.

Challenging this was also a challenge on their power.

Hence the push back
