Birmingham have retired Jude Bellingham's 22 shirt...

Utter joke of a decision, think of all of the top players they've had over the years who are much more worthy like Trevor Francis and...

erm?

He’s the upcoming star featured in this months world soccer I’ll admit I’d never heard of him either.

Watched by the cream of Europe apparently

As someone who only watches the Boro and reads nothing about football beyond this board, I find it unbelievable that someone who is constantly harping on about obscure Italian teams or magazines he's reading about football hasn't heard of him....

From what I remember of that Birmingham game you could pretty much pick any Birmingham player and any passage of play from that game and it would look like the twitter clip. Worst performance I've seen.

A lot of people saying they'd never heard of him before today must have had their head in the sands for the past 4 months...

He's been in the news non-stop for being linked with Dortumund/Man United... touted as the next Jadon Sancho.

That being said, 4 goals is hardly anything to shout about really.

TBH, I'd never heard of him at all till reading about it on here

In fact who is Jordan Sancho

Wasn't it Bellingham who pole-axed Tav resulting in the ref belatedly stopping play moments before Birmingham 'scored' in our home game?

Was just thinking about this the other day. Looked so ridiculous at the time but man, did they predict the future or what.
It still does look ridiculous!

I mean if Jude Bellingham becomes Real Madrid's most celebrated player in their history up there with Di Stefano and Puskas, wins everything there is to win, plays 600 games and manages them to glory, then Real Madrid might justifiably consider retiring his shirt on that basis.

The club where he was as a 16yo in the English second tier, where he played less than 100 games before being sold retiring his shirt however, seems very small time in my opinion.

I mean Hayden Hackney could be anything, the future looks incredibly bright for him and if he continues progressing he could go on to be a top midfielder and play Champions League football for a good side, maybe play for England too! If Boro retired his shirt I'd be embarrassed and wonder what the game was coming to!
