Bilsdale Transmitter Fire - Freeview & Various Radio Services Offline

Has anyone's freeview channels returned yet after a fire put the Bilsdale transmitter out of action?

I've been using my laptop to cast the channels to my TV in the meantime at the expense of bandwidth

MFC and Radio Tees have just stated that due to the fire if you are local and want to listen to the commentary tonight to make sure you use DAB as the FM is down.

I thought it closed down years when analogue ceased. My techie knowledge is pathetic.

Yes, they are bringing in temporary equipment to try and restore services

As Weemoby said, MFC and Radio Tees have just stated that due to the fire if you are local and want to listen to the commentary tonight make sure you use DAB as the FM is down.

There’s an audio stream available for £3 through the MFC website for those of us outside the region.

Not sure if they are the owners but someone called Arqiva are the site operators & presumably responsible for repairs

Arqiva own it. They bought it from KCOM.

"Witness Ron Needham, 71, reported seeing "a huge black cloud of smoke come from the buildings at the bottom".
He had been hiking on the North York Moors with his wife Sue, 69, when they stopped for lunch at the base of the mast. They noticed "nothing untoward" but after continuing for about a mile and a half noticed smoke coming from the top "like a chimney", Mr Needham said."

It seems like a hell of a coincidence that a fire occurred shortly after they picnicked at the base of it?!?
