McGree had his socks pulled all the way up.
It's all about standards, and Carrick sets high ones - like McGree's socks.

Intriguing to see if there is a direct correlation on Saturday at Norwich with the height of his socks and quality of performance.

I remember Cloughie fining his players for not having their shirts tucked in, socks not being pulled up, not shaving whether for training or a match, and a few other "little" things that seem petty but encouraged teamwork and comaradie

I remember reading the dirty dozen and they did the opposite which grew them closer as a team

They were all shot at the end though 🤔
Major Riseman [Lee Marvin]
Sgt Bowren [Richard Jaeckel]
Joseph Wladislaw [Charles Bronson]

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>all survived.

At the end of the film the General comes into the Side-room and says well done. The army needs men like you - then quickly about-turns an fecks off pdq

What built them into a fighting unit was leadership from Major Riseman - who achieved the objective by shoving the West Point Rule Book up the Generals jacket (y) Brilliant film on how to get the job done without sticking to the rules.
